any brand or model that you recommend?

3M only uses 2 filtration.. which brand has 3 stage filtration?

Highly recommend eSpring.
Reason being is not just about number of filters it has or number of layers filter it has.
Its because eSpring has certification of number of contaminants it can filter, thats the main point right?

Even if you have 1 or 10 or 50 layers of filters, but if you dont really know what it can filter, whats the point?
Not just generally "bacteria/virus/heavy metal".
eSpring has a list of 164 contaminants it can filter.

Thanks

Ok, I do understand that Amway is MLM and all, but cmon...

Many filters just filter out 99.99% of bacteria and viruses, there is no point to list them one by one (if they are truly certified that is). Same goes with VOC or pesticides or plastics. Most filters can filter out way, way more than 140 items. And I can guarantee Amway did not test all 140 elements, no one would do this. Everyone tests for the group of contaminants, not each one individually.

And why does Amway list fluoride as beneficial mineral? I mean, we can all read and make our own conclusions, but fluoride is a very controversial subject, where most people will consider it a poison. Just FIY, adding fluoride to drinking water is not allowed in Western Europe. In fact, very few countries add fluoride and among them are USA and Malaysia.

One more question, why UV? If they say that their filter can already filter out all bacteria, then what's UV for? Don't fall for marketing tricks, always ask yourself this questions.

I already explained why you need 3 separate stages, it's not for fun, it's the most practical approach. Yes, you can combine "20 in 1" filter, it's actually not hard to do. And it will actually filter all those 20 things... for first 10L of water that passes through. After that, it will be either clogged or it's performance will drop. And dirty little secret of the industry is that's how some of those filters receive their certifications....

Its not about Amway or not.
Read the news below, and how many indoor water filter can really 100% filter this?

https://www.nst.com.my/news/2016/10/183918/...presence-poison

Why UV? eSpring produce mineral water, means the filter size is not as small as RO water whereby everything is filtered off.
Therefore the UV is to kill them.

Just curious, are you staying in Malaysia currently?
Cheers =)

Hi. Quick question. For water dispenser with hot and cold option, how does the hot water dispenser work? Does it continuously boil the water several times since it flows out direct from the hot water outlet?
*
Normally it keeps reboil when it drops below certain temperature. And fyi, when water keep reboil is dangerous for health in long run. Convenience doesnt mean good at times. You're using which brand?

My parent’s house is using Coway. However, my mum is recommending me to get an instant water heater instead of a hot/cold water dispenser due to the same concerns regarding the number of re-boiling that occurs if I do not consume the hot water often enough.

Honestly, alot of sales agents sell you water dispenser or filter for the sake of selling. They dont care what you drink into your body. FYI, Coway doesnt have a list of certified contaminants they can filter. Cuckoo has the list of 60+ contaminants while eSpring (The one im using now) able to filter 140+ contaminants.

FYI, im not talking about 99% or 99.99% this figure. Everyone claims 99.99999% also without facts.

For your own health in long run, do use a instant boiler. Its easily available in Lazada or Mudah.my or certain electronic appliances malls.

anyone use Bacfree here? Is this product good?
*
Good because they have instant boiler, so your water wont reboil again and again.

Bad because they wrongly claim if you check the info at their website and a 3rd party certification website.

Been reading through the last 10 pages...

just a layman here.. any opinions of hot and cold dispenser of 3M, Coway, and Cuckoo ?

Tempted to get the 3M HCD-2 because of the UV and NSF certification, but Coway and Cuckoo seems nicer with their maintenance programme.

The 3M system also seems to be the most expensive considering a 5 years life span including maintenance costs.
*
It is convenient to have hot/cold dispenser, however convenient isnt good sometimes.
Water filter/purifier with hot/cold dispensers normally have auto reboil function, which is very bad for health in long run especially if you have kids or elderly at home.
Read this link to understand why https://www.thesun.co.uk/archives/news/7313...in-your-kettle/

Coway & Cuckoo indeed is marketing king with advertisements everywhereeee...

Coway is certified by WQA & NSF, however they not able to provide how many number of contaminants they can reduce.
Their only pros is hot/cold dispenser and also nice maintenance program BUT after the free program, it will cause you kinda a bomb.

Cuckoo is good at the rental scheme, however they not certified by NSF & WQA, you can check at these 2 international websites and you cant find anything about Cuckoo.

Add-on Tips : Cuckoo and Coway has alot of models, and every year they come out with new models. Now, you get a water filter for at least 5 years above...What if 5 years later they dont have spare parts for your unit, have you ever thought how? Change new model again whereby only the outlook changes but inside filtration is the same?

For me, im using eSpring. Certified by NSF & WQA and also certified to remove 140 water contaminants. Plus have UV light like you mentioned. Though dont have hot/cold dispenser, i just separately use an instant boiler.

Above just my 2 cents opinion and bit of past experiences. Cheers...

Honestly, at  4k for Espring, one is much better of with 3M dispenser +filter. It does not matter when eSpring can remove 100+ contaminants when all of them are VOCs, we have discussed it for many pages already.

BTW, not nearly everything is NSF certified by Coway, but some are.
*
eSpring is not even 4k by the way... Yea though most of it are VOC, however its good that the company list them down specifically (which means there is a strong R&D for this) especially if there are certain people looking for specific issues. Plus, can you assure that ALL carbon block filters sold in Malaysia are the same quality and can perform the same?

Just like example i say, eat vegetable is good for digestive system. BUT which vegetable is good since so many types of vegetables and each is good for different reasons.

Plus, if some people has concern like for example this issue below (in link), and they are looking for a reliable filter that can ensure it can filter this poison VOC, which company can assure it?
https://www.thestar.com.my/news/nation/2016...nous-substance/

As i know Cuckoo cannot filter 4-Bromo Diphenyl Ether bcs i checked their list already.
