1. What is the difference between LG WD516AN / LG WD517AN / LG WD518AN?
2. What is the monthly rental pricing for these 3 above and how long is the contracted period?
3. I saw LG website stated that it is self-service filter even though you subbed to the monthly rental? Does it mean that visit every 4 months by LG service guy doesn't change the filter for me? What service do they provide then on home visits?
4. If the product rosak within the contracted period, is the fix free or how much is the average charge?
5. Once contracted period ended, the item becomes mine?

Don't mind me posting the questions u PM me over here so everyone can see

Q1. 517 is in fact an older model than 516 and 518 (don't ask me why, small potato like me can't question the decisions of our HQ sweat.gif ) So it's been phased out

So let's just focus on 516 and 518 biggrin.gif

They only have 3 differences, both model same price:
1) 518 has 10ml volume control (between 120~1000ml, i.e. 120, 130, 140, 150 all the way to 1000ml as u like), 516 can use the preset 120, 250, 500 and 1000ml only
2) 518 has favourite presets - Can set 3 favourite presets, (i.e. Preset A = 120ml 40°C say for baby formula, Preset B = 270ml 85°C for coffee, Preset C = 620ml normal temperature for water bottle etc.), 1 button to change both volume and temperature that you use most frequently
3) 518 water tap cannot move 180° horizontally like 516 can, due to it being square design, but can still be installed horizontally, just that once installed cannot move the tap as u like
516 water tap can move horizontally as desired, i always use vertical for cup then swing it to the right when i fill up my bottles/cooking pot

Q2. Monthly rental for self-service is RM60 or RM90, regular visit is RM80 or RM110 depend if u take 5 or 7 yrs contract

Q3. Our pricing can be confusing sry bout that notworthy.gif

If rental customer need to choose 2 things:
1) Choose 5 or 7 yrs contract
2) Choose self-service or regular visit

Self-service is very easy, also cheaper, so always recommended unless at home no one knows how to change filter (says elderly ppl, OKU etc.)

Personally i recommend 7 yrs self-service:
1) The machine is tankless, so don't need technician visit to clean the tank anyway, so LG designed the machine with self-service functions, customer just change the filter then the machine will flush the new filter automatically, also can clean it more frequently unlike technician only visit every few months
2) Cheaper than regular visit, even cheaper if take 7 yrs
3) 5 yrs contract is more expensive overall, cuz at 3rd year it gives u an option (to return the unit, keep using the unit or upgrade to a newer model).
But i think is unnecessary, we are alrd offering what LG Korea have except 1 model where they add voice control to 518, which i cant think of a scenario for it to be useful (mayb put a cup there and run far far away then shout "dispense water"? biggrin.gif )

Q4. Both filters and warranty are covered during the whole 5/7 yrs, if rosak, LG fix for u completely free, compressor warranty even longer at 10 yrs

Q5. Yes, after rental period ends, you own the machine and can continue use it, just buy filter package will do (but no more warranty ya)

Anyone using Kangen water here? Any good?
*
Personally thinks alkaline water and hydrogen water are gimmicky and overpriced

A bit like feng shui, some believes it, some don't, no one ever 100% sure whether they works or not

Icic. Does the white colour turning yellowish after years? Worrying about white yellow due to this.

I had chosen navy blue instead.
*
White color can turn a bit dull over time, but for it to turn yellow, probably will take 10+ yrs

Hi. for LG puricare, what is the max height of outlet to table top? Those 1.5l bottle can fit to refill?

And for the diverter and water pipe from water tap to machine, how frequent need to replace?
*
Those 1.5L soft drink bottles i think cannot fit, but I'm using this Eplas bottle 1.6L, ngam ngam can fit thumbup.gif thumbup.gif

Diverter and pipes u can request our installer to change, but that'll be considered a separate deal at additional charges

Hi Sifus,

I am planning to get LG PURICARE WD516 ... undecided about which colour to get. Any recommendation on the colours as I have not seen the actual unit colour. Which is the best-selling colour for WD516.

Thanks in advance for the reply and recommendation.

If u want fast installation, white color is the one with most stock availability

All other colors are currently very low in stock, might need to wait 2~3 weeks for stock arrival then only can arrange installation.

Rm8/ month is indeed ok considered the convenience that is bought by the water purifier. 🤪

I believe most users do not hit the highest electricity tariff bracket, like my case it's only RM4/mth of electricity biggrin.gif

hi want to ask is those hot/cold water dispenser gonna burn the electric bill rm50-100?
*
Those with tank will cost more electricity than those tankless models, but probably only in range of RM20/mth, not RM50~100 la biggrin.gif

Cuz they constantly boil or chill the water stored inside the tank even when not in use, whereas tankless purifiers only heat or cool water when needed, so will use less electricity if u use less hot/cold water

In my case, on average I use 120L of tepid water and 7L of cold/hot water every month, average monthly power consumption bout 9kWh, so at my TNB tariff bracket it's about RM4/mth

Tank, yes, aprox RM80 (average)
Tankless, ask other LG expert here. I don't have the statistic.
*
Wow do they really use that much?

I never use one so i could only google how much power they use, with both hot and cold water, the range is 72~84 kWh per month

Those with only cold water will use much lesser power

Yes, buy outright cheaper by RM480 but 5 yrs lesser warranty

Rental
RM60 x 12 mths x 7 yrs = RM5,040 (Free 7 yrs filters and warranty)

Buy outright
RM3,200 (Free 2 yrs filters and warranty) + RM1,360 (5 yrs filter package only, no warranty) = RM4,560

But this is only if u buy 5-yrs filter package one-shot, if buy year by year, 1 year filter package is RM320

Icic. Thanks for the explanation. It helps. Then I am ok with my choice. I actually opted for rm60 per month option.

Seriously there are ppl buying 5 years of supply just to save cost?

The filters (unused one) can be kept for such long duration oh?
*
No la, LG do not deliver 5 yrs of filter one-shot to ur house for u to keep xD

U are just paying in advance for 5-yrs, but LG will still deliver 1 or 2 filters to u every 6 mths
