These are GAC right, not blocks? Didn't you always have a couple of blocks, that kept your membrane alive for a while.

Pretty much all quality non RO filters taste the same, RO is different story. Exception is low quality filters that add some taste or Panasonic (they have this special taste most can easily detect in blind test).

If you can "taste" a certain filter, then you are either extremely sensitive, or something is wrong with this filter.

You can test it at LG Puricare outlet at Pavilion Bukit Jalil or Damansara IPC.

Can directly compare the different models too

Does different location affects the water taste as well?

Only if there is a difference in mineral content and iron. I would say that in KL area mineral content is pretty much the same everywhere, not much difference to change the taste, but iron... Actually I was partially wrong in the previous post now that I think about it. If your filter is able to remove dissolved iron, like Disruptor for instance, it may make the water taste "softer", but it is acquired taste. For example, I grew up in an area where we had lots of this iron in water, so tap water tasted delicious for me, since I was used to it. Bottled water tasted soapy. Nowadays, if I drink iron rich water, it has this uncomfortable taste, more like a feel of mud, hard to describe.

All of this is actually a lot more important when we talk about water based drinks. Like coffee geeks prefer to have lots of Mg, tea lovers do not want iron in their water, since they want as soft of a taste as possible, etc. For most people, they can get used to pretty much any filtered water, even RO. It takes maybe 1-2 months to get used to RO, but one you do, it will be super hard to go back to "mineral".

Ok I got confirmation, if under Self Service plan, if the usage is more than 10l/day and filters exhausted within 6 months; technician will need to be dispatched for checking and customer have to pay RM 70 labour charge (inclusive of filter change and checking)

If using the technician care package, then no additional charges.

The reply i got is slightly different, mainly LG HQ is only concern about whether customer request extra filter is due to worse than expected water quality; or, heavy usage / abuse.

If former (bad water quality), LG is willing to send extra filters without any charges; if request too frequently, LG may send technician to check whether it's the latter

If latter (heavy/abusive usage), I'm not sure whether customer can pay extra to have more frequent filter delivery, the machine recommended usage is 10L per day or 5 ppl per household

I use about 5L/day and also 2 of us, so still can use a bit for rinsing while stay within the 10L/day recommended usage, but we personally don't use it for rinsing

I'm not sure what's the difference between 1800L capacity and the NSF capacity 200 gallons, anyone has experience?

I read back previous posts. Want to clarify how long or how many liters can the filter actually last? is it follow NSF 200 gallon (750 liter) or 1800L? if latter, does it mean after exceeded 200 gallon, it doesn't guarantee effectiveness of water quality? Want to know more info about this as I m also interested to get Puricare.

So how much to pay got extra filter cartridge?

Hi bro, there are 2 filters in 1 machine (same for all models), 1st one change every 6mths/1,800L, 2nd one change every 12mths/3,600L, LG will automatically deliver to ur house when its time to change

Extra filter as in u prefer purchase outright and need to buy extra filter after the 2 years free filters?

Btw if u don't mind can Whatsapp me ya, my signature got my phone no. notworthy.gif notworthy.gif
