You can still run Windows XP's stuff via Bootcamp. Can be downloaded at Apple.com

Don't worry to much, Mac OS X is the easiest OS to use.

Once you go Mac, you never go back!(Windows XP)

As for Microsoft Office, there is Microsoft Office for Mac.
For BitComet there is Transmission, a bittorent client for Mac.
As for Internet Explorer, Mac has Safari or Firefox browser.

Yes its easy and the most important, we can get 3rd party software for free.
No need to buy pirates software. So no need to worry about it.
Beside boot camp you can use "Parallel desktop" to run window xp too.

Apple can do everything, except running .exe files...

No games (expect you search for Mac-platform), No software (expect you search for Mac-platform) for Mac.

Nice machine, but why it can't run .exe....................... (T_T) haih

Most of the things that you plugged into your mac will work...sometimes even better than windows...it just works.....

As Timber mentioned, there are alternatives to the programs u mentioned...

u just need to make sure that the stuff u are doing is compatible with your mac.....no point getting a computer which dont help u do much....

and as mike3300 said, u can always use boot camp to run windows XP....it's still in beta version....

well, see what you really need to do in a computer. if you need to do high-end photo editing, video editing etc. maybe the macbook might not be enough. maybe the macbook pro will be better. normal 'things'? well pls. give us a more detailed example so we can really help you out, think over thoroughly, you might miss out something...now is towards the end of the year, you might want to wait till early next year and get it with leopard, the next installment of os x. i had to pay 499 extra just because i did not wait for 2 months and i knew that there was a new version coming out sad.gif face it, we all want the latest, and when you know it is coming out, why not wait a little while, of course little while does not mean few months...just my 2 cents. also, do drop by at the apple centre and take your own sweet time playing around thoroughly with the macbook before you buy and ask us or the salesguy any questions you need to know.

eerrm...what do u want to download??

it's actually the same as windows....
if u donwloaded a PDF file, u'll need to search for a PDF reader(btw, MAC comes built in with a pdf reader)
if u donwloaded a word document, u'll need to search for a software to open it....

I think should be no problem
NeoOffice 2.0 = Microsoft Office
Azerues = BitComet
Firefox, Safari = Internet Explorer
VLC = VLC

I think most of the file can be open just need to ask only..
if cannot open, use BootCamp to install Windows.. and it's Works!

The above software should be able to handle
some Windows programs and it's free.
