For the anniversay versions, I must say that I chose to buy it firstly before the others because the of the black color.

But what I should add is that the "anniversary" words imprinted on it really ruins that "I'm a friggin variable fighter, hear me roar as I soar the skies while I macross(look up Urban Dictionary #3) all my enemies and all of that jazz!"

I'd rather have the UN-SPACY logo on it :/

Then you should get the 1/48 Stealth version, not the 25th Anniversary. tongue.gif

I would have if the YF-19 came in stealth colors biggrin.gif

Wow, Ozma's VF-25 looks awesome esp. the visor biggrin.gif.. I suppose all captains get the best looking Veritech *[EDIT]*VARIABLE*[/EDIT]* Fighters. Too bad I suck at putting decals :/

Hey dude, one question on your YF-21, did you have to rotate the legs 180 degrees from transforming from plane mode to GERWALK? Bcoz your legs sure look shorter than mine; mine's like some pterodactyl with long legs sad.gif .

And that darn manual doesn't help since it's in japanese.

Everytime I look at those wheels, it acts as a good reminder that it's time to do some grocery shopping tongue.gif tongue.gif

Say, evan.. you getting the VF-25 chogokin kits?

hmm, if the reviews of the DX is good, and if somehow the landing gears are fixed, i might get it.. if not, i'm with bro Undici and wait (even if it takes 10 years, haha) for yamato..

i might be getting the 1/72 VF-25 Alto kit just to hold a VF-25 in my hand in the meantime tongue.gif
*
I was kinda torn between getting the Chogokin DX and waiting out for 10 years XD for Frontier's stuff XD, think I'd do the same and grab just Ozma's and batten down the hatches until then.

By the way, nice Macross collection, Evan.. but DAMN, I'm just one VF-1 mold short of catching up to you biggrin.gif

Incidentally, does anyone here collect the Macross Chronicle files bc I was in Kinokuniya last Sunday and apparently someone bought issues 06 and 07 leaving me with 08 sad.gif after buying previously 01-05 .

It's from Bandai. And if you read the posts above, they are implying that it's not a mere model kit.

Looking at the VF-25(s), I can't help but think they're making the Variable Fighters to be more and more skinny :/ .

I'm getting confused here, which one of the Bandai kits was it that featured trolley wheels? And what scale was it?

The 1/60 paint job looks way too smooth and glossy :/..

the 1/60 (also known as the DX or the Chogokin) have die-cast parts, but when it comes to anime-accuracy it failed miserably to what Yamato has been offering with other Macross series.

the 1/72 (a.k.a. the snapkit, or kit) is perfect overall when it comes to anime-accuracy, but the smaller scale might be a deterrent for those who've collected 1/60 Yamatos.

*
Ah thanks, that clarified things nicely for me. One more question though, does the 1/60 aka DX/Chogokin require self-assembly?

But yeah, it really can't seem to compare to what Yamato would've done had they been the ones releasing the toys.. Everything seems to be flawed one way or another. Sure wish they'd be able to retain what the 1/72 had and rescale it to 1/60, because that size difference did as you say, act as a deterrent for me too.

Bottomline is,

YAMATO all the way!

The VF-11B looks kinda chubby though from the pictures, but I've been saying that too much lately >.>

QUOTE(evanrue @ Jan 1 2009, 12:43 AM)
the VF-11b is TOO expensive for a non-main-character valk, i might skip that one (despite being a Yamato) until the price becomes more reasonable..

That's not quite right biggrin.gif, because Isamu Dyson was piloting it in the beginning parts of Macross Plus. Thus... (Chants : " Buy buy buy buy buy buy!")

And HAPPY NEW YEAR to EVERYONE!

Incidently, Chobo.. How are the details on the engine turbines? Can you actually open the umm.. covers(think that's the word) like how most of the YAMATO models are able to?
