Hi guys! just paid booking fee for HS sedan, meteor gray. SA offered free tint by Vessolar - Vess Armour 6. VLT 50%, UVR 99%, IRR 93%, 6mil and 7 years warranty. He also did offer SkyTint for free, but insisted that Vessolar was better spec-to-spec.

Is Vessolar an in-house brand, and does anyone here happen to use this? I can't seem to find any reviews / product info on the internet.

he claims that it is better than SkyTint, which i found was by Konica but thats about it. no specs on this as well.

any recommendations on which i should opt for?

would appreciate any feedback smile.gif

thanks

Congratulations! The DRL is on when the car engine is on the headlights off. That's how its supposed to work as a "Daytime Running Light".

Also, the DRL's go off when the gear selector is in "park". smile.gif

speaking of lights, does anyones headlights flutter when going through rough roads? i.e giving the impression that the projector lamps are loose?

I believe its due to the AFS but just wanna check if this is normal. smile.gif

Just give any service centre a call to ask for the price. Then you compare against outside spare parts shop, just choose whichever cheaper lor...the spark plug also can ask spare parts shop for advise. Some manufacturers put in the spark plug type in their car manual, you can have a look there first.
Flutter?? You mean like the when the ceiling tube lights are starting? If so, not good sign. When the AFS is working, you can see the light beams shift towards the direction of the turning of your steering wheel.

Speaking of the headlights, any of the forumers actually witness the auto high beam control actually working? Even when i set to auto for both headlight and highbeam, never seemed to see it activated in real life driving before. I check manual to confirm whether got fault but my indicator light showed it is in ok condition.

well not exactly flutter like fluorescent lamps lighting up per se (if i understood you correctly).

more like the light beam "jiggles" when going over uneven roads, like something is loose in the headlamp housing. its very very minor, just something i noticed and wanted to check with other owners smile.gif

my HBC works fine. you have to be on a really really dark road for it to work. mine wouldn't come on if there are street lamps bright enough for the camera to detect. did you set your headlight stalk to the high beam position, i.e pushed forward (away from you)? maybe try disabling and re-enabling the HBC in the car settings and see if it works.

haha when i saw the dreaded 3 letters (TSB) in the link i thought this can't be good.

affected models are 2012-2013 so unless Mazda carried over the affected parts, I think we're off the hook.

I have not experienced any flicker as they described, just merely minor wobbles of the light beam when going through rough roads. what i suspected that caused this "wobble" is the AFS and auto levelling mechanism - because the projector lens are swivelling horizontally / vertically according to steering input and vehicle height(or weight?), thus they might be somewhat loose so that they can swivel.

I did disable the AFS to see if it wobbled less, and true enough it did.

// on a separate topic, do your engine oil dipsticks have a matte surface as opposed to the conventional shiny surface? It makes gauging the oil level unnecessarily difficult with the matte surface shakehead.gif

The AFS only have horizontal movements.

Yes, the dip stick is matte, so use tissue paper to "print" the markings and compare. Remember that the readings are supposed to be done when the engine cools down, not warm. (opposite is applicable for transmission fluid though).

Yup I know. The vertical movement I mentioned was for referring to auto levelling. smile.gif

Haha. I wonder whats the reason for them to use a matte surface for the dipstick as opposed to the shiny ones. It would've been much more straight forward.

Have a great new year fellow M3 owners one and all smile.gif
