I felt the same as well. Find that mazda3 need paddle  shift especially overtaking, relying on the pedal alone is not powerful enough to overtake. Maybe because of skyactiv engine.
*
Not necessarily. Pedal shift assists in switching between gear on demand. For normal overtaking, the throttle pedal signal alone will cause the gearbox to downshift to find the gear that matches the rev. The 6 speed gearbox of our Mazda 3 is good for a healthy long sprint to 185KM/H (I hope I didn't get clocked by any speed camera while doing this), and is quite responsive when floored.

If you're talking about overtaking at high speeds, maybe the pedal shift helps in giving extra confidence as we can override the automatic input and push the engine to the redline. Couple the paddle shift and the 'manual drive' mode, you basically have a car fit for a nice relaxing touge.

With or without the paddle shift, overtaking is easy and manageable. Paddle shifts just add another dimension to the overtaking. Not everyone drives fast smile.gif

We were moving some stuff in a shoplot 1 floor above where the car was parked by the side of the road and came down only to realize that my boot open. At first I was worried that it got broken in to, but then realized that it could be that the remote in my jeans pocket was ter-pressed against my keys tongue.gif

Just to double-confirm the possibility, I tried opening the boot with the remote from the 1st floor again and it worked! So remember to be careful with your remote!

Our remote, be it for doors or boot, functions from quite a range. I can unlock my car from across a two lane street.

Hi guys,

Anyone knows anywhere in KL selling this kit? Looks nice and clean.
*
Looks like the MazdaSpeed Kits.

Sri Ardin / Asia Bodykit / Carbon In Motion sells them.

Bought mine from CarbonInMotion for RM1500 (Glossy black, comes in one set with the spoiler, installation and GST inclusive). Will report back on quality once I schedule installation.

So far, only Sri Ardin is willing to sell the kits separately from the spoiler. Asia Bodykiy is priced the highest last I checked, and CarbobInMotion is having a promo for the Merdeka/Malaysia Day celebration.

As good as Mazda 3? New Civic 2016
*
Quite the looker, the new Civic.

At this rate, Toyota will have to ramp up marketing of the Corolla Altis as personally I think both the Mazda 3 and the 2016 Civic looks a LOT better compared to the current gen Corolla Altis.

More interesting to me is the option of 1.5 VTec Turbo offered by the 2016.

Find Carbon in Motion.
How's the glossy black? Too striking or suit well with the car paint? mind to share your photo?
*
The glossy black is 'OK' to me. A bit of 'orange peel' on the clearcoat of the paint, but not a big issue since most white Mazda 3 has 'orange peel' clearcoat due to poor paint QC at factory (the curse of CKD cars).

Installation required some drilling and held together by a layer of primer and 3M tape, as expected for most bodykits. Note that you have to remove the rear mudguard to install the side skirts.

5 drill points for the front skirt (2 at each side, one in the center)
4 drill points for the side skirt (2 at each end)
6 drill points for the rear skirt (2 at each side, 2 in evenly spaced in the middle)

Spoiler held together by 3M primer and 3M tape.

So far so good. Not the most striking of bodykits but serves my purpose of having an executive-ish ride smile.gif

If your ride is Soul Red / Reflex Blue, try painting the kits gloss black.
Personally, I would've preferred mine in white to match the body paint but the white / black scheme seems to grow on me.

You are right. I also notice my car (Artic white) paint had orange peel surface if under lighting. Starting i thought i am too sensitive and thought it appear on my car only. After some day, i park beside a CX-5 which have same situation with me. Now i confirm all Artic White had orange peel finish on the whole car. For other color, i think should dont have this problem (I guess).

Sorry Bro, typo - my ride is CKD smile.gif

planning to paint the rim and the brake caliper, will it void the warranty ?
*
Don't think so. But I'd advise against painting the calipers. Some paint traps heat when the calipers are supposed to release heat as quickly as possible to avoid warping the brake disc.

Can buy the RIM from those tyre shop or change upgrade to 17" better option imo
*
Agree with Jim.Tan.

The 18" wheel and the low profile performance tyres generate a lil bit too much noise to my liking.

If I had the cash to splash, I'd go for 17" wheels, decent UHP tyres (which are cheaper at 17" sizes), and lower the ride of the car using proper aftermarket springs - to replace the 18" wheels.
