QUOTE(jay_y @ Jun 29 2015, 01:05 PM) Hi EVERYONE... I have to retraced back my statement. A minute ago, Maybank representative called me and CONFIRMED that 5% rebate on AMEX will only be applicable for DINING expenses only STARTING 1ST AUGUST 2015. Conclusion: Will cancel the card since it does not offer petrol rebates anymore. Wow, they even made an effort to call you back. This shows how serious they are.

100k, I still need some time to reach there... Looks like I will need to accept my boss' offer to be posted to Philippines for a short term assignment and earn some money, so that it will touch 100k per annum. Else, I really can't fully maximize my bills. This post has been edited by fruitie: Jun 29 2015, 03:45 PM

QUOTE(michaelho @ Jun 29 2015, 04:29 PM) PBB VS said pledge FD RM35K can apply already, good option. I'm cheapskate, don't want to pledge FD. QUOTE(michaelho @ Jun 29 2015, 04:31 PM) More than enough for me, will probably ask them to limit to RM2k also, because max rebate is RM60. After my 100K card scam, now hv phobia Holy mama. 100k card scam.

QUOTE(chriscym @ Jun 30 2015, 09:03 PM) Thanks mate, what cards u guys switching to? My ocbc now also hopeless... HLB wise still best for me now. If you have an annual income of RM 100k, PBB Visa Signature and Maybank Visa Signature are good. Else, you have to mix and match with different cards but still most of us still haven't sorted the utilities bills payment to maximize cash back.

QUOTE(chriscym @ Jun 30 2015, 09:11 PM) Watami card's 3% i guess can be used for utilities rite?. I'm paying my tnb with hlb wise get 10% Both of these cards are good if you can spend a lot. I don't spend a lot, that's the problem. For groceries and petrol, you can also consider Maybank Ikhwan and UOB One for petrol I think.

QUOTE(donhue @ Jun 30 2015, 10:00 PM) There are annual fees for these cards, right? Are there conditions to get the annual fees waived? Easy peasy for PBB VS: First year annual fee is waived for principal and supplementary cardmembers. Subsequent years' annual fee waived is subject to 12 swipes in the preceding 12 months. Not so easy peasy for MBB VS: Principal: RM550, FREE for the first year. Subsequent years FREE if spend a min of RM50,000 and above per annum

QUOTE(munkeyflo @ Jun 30 2015, 10:08 PM) UOB One had a quota for petrol rebate, so have to pump early in the month. Then recently also change their rebate to weekends only. So I guess can only get rebate if we pump within the first few weekends of the month. My car petrol no need me to pump. Maybe in the future, I will need to pump myself. I'll need to start thinking about this. This post has been edited by fruitie: Jun 30 2015, 10:12 PM

QUOTE(vin_ann @ Jul 1 2015, 11:54 AM) Payment must be made with Maybank Visa Credit Card. - No issue, everyone have MBB Visa card.Payment must be made with Maybank Visa Paywave Credit Card for the Complimentary Popcorn set. Big issue, not everyone have MBB Petronas Visa PayWave card. I have issue, I don't have Maybank Visa card. Used to have when using Gold card and noticed quite a lot of promos on MasterCard, so when I upgraded to Plat I asked for MC... Then all the promos for Visa pop up. For e.g. Agoda Visa Wed and this weekend B1F1. At least I still have other cards to use for Agoda Visa Wed but this B1F1 only accepts Maybank Visa which I don't have.

VS changed their PPL entitlement from unlimited to 12 times last week, then yesterday revised to 5 times. Guess what, effectively 15th July.
