I have tplink with openwrt firmware installed, it has been more than a year now and has been very stable.

I've Archer C7, before you flash yours, do check with the openwrt wiki page and see if it is supported. I don't use hypptv since I'm on Maxis BB right now but I believe hypptv is connected directly to BTU?
