I saw few modem routers from asus https://www.asus.com/Networking/xDSL-Modem-Routers-Products/My question are 1. If there is a thing why people choose to buy separate router? 2. Is it recommended to have these two devices separately? 3. Does it work with unifi and hypptv box? I have to on/off my router quite frequently now due to no internet connection even though hypptv box is still streaming uninterrupted. Not sure what's the problem.

QUOTE All Unifi installation comes with 2 devices, the ONU and the router. You can only replace the router and not the ONU. In order for Unifi to work, a router needs to support VLAN tagging. The routers listed below as they are fully compatible with Unifi with HyppTV working out of the box. Once you purchased the new router, request your Unifi ID and Password from TM. You will need them when configuring your new router. Once you got everything ready, remove your old router and wire up the new router. Configure it and you are good to go. blacktubi why?
