My experience:

Tue 5pm: Signed up for Maxis SurfMore plan. Currently on DiGi Smart Plan. Was told MNP may take up to 2-3 days.
Tue 9pm: SMS from Maxis. "Awaiting your current service provider to confirm".
Wed 5.30pm: SMS from DiGi. "Request to port out is in process."
Wed 5.31pm: SMS from Maxis. "Please replace...with Maxis SIM within 2 hours"
Wed 5.31pm: I replace the SIM card on my phone.
Wed 5.31pm: Two more Maxis SMS messages. (Thank you and welcome and all that stuff.)

So it took approximately 24 hours in my case. I was/am on autobilling, so I guess no problems with outstanding amounts to settle.

I have a MaxisOne broadband sim
and I want to port out to other telco
problem is when I got the sms to confirm the port out, I can't reply as this sim is only for broadband
so how do I port out  unsure.gif  wacko.gif

You don't/can't port out broadband accounts because MNP is to retain your number, and nobody can call your broadband anyway so it's pointless to MNP. Only thing you can do with broadband is to continue using it or to cancel it.

nvm I have successfully MNP my number  rclxms.gif  icon_idea.gif
at first I contacted Maxis live chat support but they said like what you said broadband number can't MNP
but that's ridiculous, these are all just setting in system
so unsatisfied I went to Maxis counter and those wonderful people helped me
they convert my number to main line n then I can right away reply to the MNP sms
voila  thumbup.gif port out success!

But why do you need to port that number? Nobody is calling you on that number, are they?

Hello ... May I know which Telco and prepaid plan has the longest active plan at the lowest cost? Just trying to keep my number alive only.
*

  • OneXOX -- 28 months validity initially, subsequently RM25 for 1 year's validity.
  • mobile@unifi -- just use the line once every 90 days to stay active.

OneXoX offer only for first time ? I ported out of OneXOX about 3 months ago.

Supposed to be one time only, but some people reported getting it the 2nd time round.

Will I be totally uncontactable while the number is being ported over?

Only for a few seconds when you're taking the old SIM out and putting the new SIM in.

hi sifus, im currently using digi postpaid paying $53 every month with 20GB (all day) + 5GB (weekends).

I realize that i barely use the mobile internet, so can recommend me any plan so that i can downgrade/MNP? Thanks

Try Yoodo. The cheapest plan with no internet and 50 minutes voice is RM5 a month. Go to yoodo.com.my to configure a suitable plan for your requirements.
