My Journey from U Mobile to Hotlink to CelcomDigi

Saturday, 15-06-2024
- Request free Hotlink prepaid sim online

Thursday, 20-06-2024
- Received the sim card from GDEX
- U Mobile Postpaid -> Hotlink Prepaid
- Replied to Port Out confirmation at 9:41 PM

Friday, 21-06-2024
- Successful port in to Hotlink Prepaid

Saturday, 22-06-2024
- Transferred ownership at Maxis Center
- Requested Port In to CelcomDigi
- Replied to Port Out confirmation at 1:36 PM

Sunday, 23-06-2024
- Port in completed at 9:19 AM

As it involves transferring ownership before adding to the CelcomDigi family plan, I had to go through this journey because I initially requested to port in to Hotlink Prepaid. However, the Maxis Center staff did not allow this, stating that I could only port in to Postpaid for six months before converting to Prepaid.

Additionally, CelcomDigi only support Postpaid-to-Postpaid porting. Since I was on U Mobile Postpaid, I could only port in to CelcomDigi as Postpaid. If I chose Postpaid, the transfer ownership cost would be RM60, whereas Prepaid transfers are free.

Therefore, the best approach was to port in online to Hotlink Prepaid, complete the ownership transfer, and then port in to CelcomDigi family line.

One fun things is during the transfer ownership at Maxis. The staff saw that my prepaid just active 1 day ago. Keep asking how I get the prepaid plan. Whether I just bought this number bla bla bla. I just lazy to entertain and curious what wrong with Maxis now? Is Prepaid plan no longer available?

Is the same maxis center that previously said must port in to postpaid rather than prepaid.

The staff probably seemed like unamused 😐 because he got one less commission due to you 🤣

It is the same Maxis Center. But different person to assist me. But his question for me really weird. Like very curious how I did it to port in Hotlink Prepaid just a day ago.
