may i know how many times can I MNP with the same number?
basically , i'm now on Digi postpaid and is pplanning to go to Digi prepaid to save some expenses. So i'm planning to Port to other telco, then port back to Digi Prepaid afterwards.

Is this possible? anyone got any experience doing this? Thanks.

1. No limitation for number of mnp times.

2. You can directly convert your digi postpaid to digi prepaid as long as you're no longer on contract.

3. Go to a digi svc center near you and convert P2P (postpaid-to-prepaid) for free.

I want to switch from digi prepaid to hotlink. As I still have about RM70 in digi prepaid account, I will need to convert from digi prepaid to digi postpaid, and then port to Hotlink.
Questions:
1. Is there any cooling period after I convert my digi prepaid to digi postpaid before I can port to Hotlink? Different shops tell me different stories.

2. Am I allowed to MNP from digi postpaid to Hotlink? No need to be digi prepaid to MNP to Hotlink right?
*
So much trouble for rm70 ?

What's your digi prepaid plan ? Best / Easy / Smart / Live ?

if Live then be creative and use up your credits ...

If Easy or Smart then convert to Best 2016 and sell of your credits .... then mnp to hotlink ...

if already Best then sell off your credits now and then mnp to hotlink ....

Thank you for the suggestion on converting to best 2016 and selling/giving away the credit.

RM70 may be kacang putih to you, but it is a lot of money for me to simply throw away.

Sorry ya ... what I meant to say was that converting from digi prepaid to postpaid is itself a hassle and a waste of money for a postpaid plan that you may not need since you're going to hotlink in the end ...

Selling off the credits may get you ~80% of your credits for hotlink use instead.

Hope someone can advise me....I port out from Celcom to UMobile for 2mths and I just called Celcom to checked whether I still have any outstanding payment. I was shocked that Celcom charge me full 1 mth bill eventhough I use the line less than 24hrs. Is it arguable?
*
Yes, argue all you want about their capitalist ways ... however it is in the TnC if you care to read up on their website. As usual caveat emptor .....

Hi Guys,

Yesterday i applied at Celcom to port from Hotlink, they activated my service at Celcom immediately and asked to wait for SMS from maxis.

Today only received SMS from maxis, replied YES to port out. After 2 hours, a guy from maxis called and said port out server for ALL telco having problems. Might need 2 or 3 weeks to complete the request.

They said will give free 2GB data for the lateness.

Anyone else faced the same issue while porting out from maxis? Is this normal? Please advise guys.

Thanks.

You kena play already. There is no such server delay problem porting in or out from any telco. Maxis wants to make you forget about porting so tell ya need 2-3 weeks to mnp ...

more stupid things at umobile!

after they reject my mnp, i top up rm5, then realised that 5 days is meant as working days, so i proceed to top up another rm5, then check validity is only 5 days instead of 10 days!!!

so called cs, and they said need to top up another rm10 to get 10 days just to get out, blood suckers.

to make matter worse, i just learnt that if you ask your friend to top up rm2 to get 7 days, it will shorten the existing 5 days to become 2 days! it get worse, so ended up you pay rm12 to get 2 days validity, WTF?

how bullshit can umobile be?

i am very determine to get rid of umobile for all such stupid reasons and policies.

so now have to resubmit and wait for the sms again.

wish me luck.

Hmmm .....

1. Performing multiple top ups / reloads does not stack. It has always been like that for the past 20+ years ..... where have you been ? Definitely not umobile's fault there ....

2. Only one telco offers reloads with stacking validity ..... and its none of the big 4 telcos ... not one ...

3. I've checked my notes and Umobile does not have RM2 top ups or RM2 creditshare ... I've used credit shares on all big 4 telcos and none matches your claim that it will shorten existing validity down ..... it just definitely does not work that way ...

4. Umobile does suffers from terrible congestion in many areas ..... well ... excluding mine ... devil.gif

5. Bear in mind that the stupid mnp reasons and policies you're claiming are not exclusive to Umobile alone .... for a very simple reason : those policies are regulated by SKMM and thus applies to ALL telcos ...

Refer to http://mnpcheck.skmm.gov.my/FAQ.aspx and one of the requirements is

- However, only active mobile numbers can port. Thus, do not terminate your current line before porting.

Prepaid accounts in grace period does not fulfill this particular requirement,

So, stop bitching and face reality.

We need to bear in mind that MNP isn't free. The cost has been absorbed by new port-in Telco.  So it's only fair that they recover some of their cost by imposing a cooling off period of 30 days , at least they recover RM30 from an individual before he decides to port out.
*
Hmmm .....

Boss ... I find this amusing ... ex: I bought a (fully paid) prepaid telco M and I need to stay with telco M for 30 days so that telco M can recoup the mnp costs when I port-out to telco D becoz the mnp costs is to be absorbed by telco D ?

There's no stopping me from just waiting 30 days to lapse (including grace period) before reloading RM5 to port-out ... (yeah, been there done that).

True, there's costs associated with mnp ... but surely they won't be giving free mnps unless they have planned and allocated a budget for it ..... no need to rationalize telcos objective of making lotsa money ...

My mum has been using Celcom service since year 2004, and by that time government not yet annouced that all SIM card holder must register their IC.

Now I wan change telco service for mum from Celcom to Umobile, and they said the sim card not registered under my mum name so she can't port out.

Any idea how to sort this out? She dunwan to change new hp number.
*
Hmmm .....

All prepaid numbers was required to be registered in 2006 ..... so, you're saying she did not ? ..... which is not possible as ALL unregistered numbers were disconnected on 1st January 2007.

The one and only way is to find out to whom it was registered and do ownership transfer now ..... You are advised to get it done now before January 2018 whereby stricter prepaid rules will be enforced.

Good luck.

There is a number registered under my name..when i go centre to cut it, it will sambung balik later..really annoying..so after Jan 2018 my problem will be solve i think after reading your reply
*
Hmmm .....

This is amazing ...... line bonded with T-virus and able to auto-resurrect ..... I wish I have a line like this .....

Anyway, if you were to cut the line now, no one can re-activate it anymore ..... SKMM recently instructed all telcos that any expired prepaid line cannot be re-activated anymore.

Just to gain the upper hand, why don't you just mnp the number out to a different telco now and let it die ..... minus the T-virus .....

Anyone know whether the balance for the prepaid will be refunded when we port out? I'm porting out from Maxis Hotlink.
*
All credit balances is forfeited upon successful porting out. Its the same SOP with all telco.

Any sifu knows how much minimum balance should I leave in Digi Prepaid before I port out to XOX?
*
Hmmm .....

AFAIK, the most important thing is that the validity period should be at least 3-5 days. I helped someone mnp from U with only 10 sen balance after we did creditshare and UMI to the max ...... Should be fine leaving at least 1 sen credit in digi prepaid because if you mnp to digi also only get 1 sen credit ....

Stupid Digi, I top up RM3, now got RM4+ in the line, still reject me saying 1 or more line did not reply to the Sms.

I did type Y to replied the sms.  but now it said reject because I didn't reply.  What is the problem?
*
laugh.gif

It's normal ..... happens when sms confirmation is delayed or simply got lost in transmission ... Just ask the dealer to re-submit early in the morning ...

When you ask different people how much minimum credit balance in prepaid before can mnp then you will get different answers ... I can confirm that for telco A, C and U, it can be less than RM1 (been there, done that) .....
