Does celcom impose any minimum stay in their prepaid line before porting out to other telco? I heard Hotlink is one month? Can someone clarify this?

went to maxis center to submit my port in request from other Digi during lunch break. Until now, still no sms from Maxis or Digi.
Should I check with Maxis whether they have submitted my request to port? |

QUOTE(ckh6003 @ Aug 30 2017, 01:01 AM) Checked with Maxis CS, he claimed my maxisone plan is no bundle with any contract, so I can port out as usual, while the advance payment I paid, they will refund to me via Cheque within 2-3 weeks (send to the billing address). you can try port out to Digi prepaid first (don't have to pay deposit), and if it is successful (meaning no contract from maxis side), then you upgrade to postpaid at digi.Double check with DiGi CS as well, he claimed depend on maxis whether got cooling off period or blocking porting out imposed or not. If none, I can port back DiGi anytime. Went to digi store, CS claimed got cooling off period 30 days, after that I only can port back. But I checked with digi store express, the guys claim no cooling off period, I can port back anytime as long as I don't have any contract. So which one correct? Which one wrong? |

hi guys, I applied for online Digi MNP, still haven't received the SIM card today (5 days already). My hotlink account is going to be deactive soon.
Can I MNP to other telco , or apply for MNP at Digi center and just ignore the online DIGI MNP? |

QUOTE(lowya @ Nov 24 2017, 08:57 AM) i am giving up on umobile since their service level sucks and their plans are tricky and app not user friend, data speed slow, on all level failed. your lines need to be active to port out. That is the requirement. Here's the interesting part, 2 days after reply YES sms to port out, the line happened to be passive, and umobile still ask to top up RM5 just to port it out, i say this is shame for a telco to ask for more money just to end their service. not going to use umobile again since they handle it so unprofessional. Bear in mind that MNP is actually not 'free', as the receiving Telco bears the fee for it. So when you want to port out, the telco has the right to impose a minimal cool off period and to require you to have your lines active. To be safe, make sure your line has more than 7 days validity left. Porting process takes 3 days Working day maximum, not including public holidays and weekends. QUOTE(UN1T3D @ Nov 24 2017, 08:42 PM) 5. Bear in mind that the Refer to http://mnpcheck.skmm.gov.my/FAQ.aspx and one of the requirements is - However, only active mobile numbers can port. Thus, do not terminate your current line before porting. Prepaid accounts in grace period does not fulfill this particular requirement, So, stop bitching and face reality. |

Just to follow up on the recent MNP problem for prepaid. Sharing my experience and advice.
1. Must stay with telco for at least 30 days before port out 2. Must not owe telco any money , even for prepaid. i. Things such as "credit advance" by telco where prepaid credit was given to you first, and will be deducted once you reloaded. Make sure you reload and get the due deducted before MNP out. ii. Monthly subscription services such as monthly internet plan should be unsubscribed before porting out. For example, if you don't have enough credit to renew the monthly internet plan (as you plan to port out anyway), a "due" payment may be tagged to your account. You may get the notice " non fulfillment of contract obligation" when you MNP. 3. Must have a minimum amount in the prepaid account. Definitely not ZERO. I would say RM1.00 is a safe bet. 4. Prepaid account must be active before you MNP. A safe bet will be at least 7 days validity period to take into account weekends/holidays. 5. Name and IC number must be entered correctly at the receiving telco side when you MNP. This post has been edited by Chrono-Trigger: Feb 20 2019, 09:32 AM |
