I ported from Maxis postpaid to Digi prepaid not too long ago. The whole process was completed in less than 2 days:)

Last week i went to celcom center to apply for porting. My current telco is Maxis (prepaid) and i'm going to switch to Celcom (prepaid). I have completely fill up the form and they give me a new sim card. But the process of porting will take about 3-5 working days. They will send me SMS notification once the porting is done.

The problem is i still never receive any call/SMS regarding the porting until now. It's more than 5 working days!

Anybody of you here have experience this problem? I don't want to call the service center since i'm so bz. Just wanna share with anybody here who face this kind on cases...
TQ...

Its possible that your account details are not accurate, eg. old ic number and new ic number used creating a mismatch between the 2 telcos info

Not really. I also have this problem right now ... apparently since they open the porting to Postpaid users, the numbers of daily applications jumped to beyond that 100 per day limit. My porting has been due for like 10 days and when I checked ... application has not been rejected, just that still in the queue for processing.

I agree that perhaps the number of porting request has increased since mnp soft launch, merely stating the possibilities there as I know of people who have experienced this. Looks like MNP is slowly moving towards its aim of pushing the telcos to ensure service and quality rclxms.gif

I'm referring to no one's relative in particular, no worries. When it's official, there's always a time and chance for every telco to assess their 'losses', improve, kick up the level of competition, and win the customers back. That's the main benefit of MNP.
I believe this is where we have a valid discussion, backed by facts and knowledge, instead of making blank accusations at certain party just because you don't like their advertisment/package plan.

I'm just merely pointing out that it's way too early to make conclusive statements here, like Maxis is going down and all that, just by looking at the trial period, even before MNP go nationwide.

imho, MNP can be a driver for service improvement on all fronts (customer service, network coverage and quality, applications and services, etc). As consumers, its always good that we are able to provide meaningful and constructive criticism as at the end of the day it is us who benefit. Telco field is always evolving, MNP is just a part of this evolution

Hello. I don't understand actually.

I'm now having a 017-601XXXX Hotlink prepaid and I'm planning to get the same 016-601XXXX but using Digi Prepaid. Is that what you meant of 'porting'?

Upon porting, you cease to be a Maxis customer but instead become a Digi customer. Your number will still be 017-601XXXX. All your services will now be provided by Digi. Remember to clear up all your credit as currently you are not allowed to transfer any remaining balance from one telco to another. happy porting!

Anybody ever tried MNP from UMobile to Digi? I thought of buying a UMobile number and later MNP to Digi. Would be grateful for anyone to share their experience. Like maybe whether I need to use Umobile for a year before I can change and whether the procedure is difficult. Thanks.

Its possible to port without problems from one telco to another, in this case UMobile to Digi as long as you are not contracted to the telco you want to port out of. Make sure you clear any outstanding bills too:)
