More competition among the telcos, expect more advertisement wars and better pricing structure. I'm been with Maxis since 5 years ago, time to change perhaps? Hopefully this will reduce the amount of spam and scam sms-es too. Imagine one telco couldn't stop people from stealing your credits, while the other have no such thing. Everyone will start ship jumping. The thing is I'm afraid there might be a fee for it, an expensive one.

yups...as long as their fight do benefits us...that would be great... smile.gif
no more spamming, unknown-winning-contest, winning this and that shows, "hidden-charges"... shakehead.gif  shakehead.gif  shakehead.gif

yup...we need to pay a maximum of rm25 for switching to another telco... cool2.gif
*
RM25 sounds reasonable. It's not like we are changing telco monthly. That would make the staff working in those telco restless as this will ruin all their plans, package or whatsoever. What active 10, friends and family, hope they will work together and make it possible to make them work for all telcos tongue.gif

A good chance for new telco like Umobile to compete in my opinion. With their "pay for just what you use". Anyone have any idea if the last number will be generated randomly or it's a fixed number?

From what to what? I think we should start a new thread for telco users to post feedbacks like how frequent is spam sms-es etc.

there is a RM 25 charge when you port.
I think telco will start tying user under contract preventing them from porting so easily.
*
They have to really get some attractive plans first if they want to make its users to sign contracts. Who is so stupid to put himself under contract when the pricing is the same.

If I'm not mistaken, it is possible after 6 months of converting to postpaid. That is what they told me when I change to postpaid.

Is it worth to go for those 1 year validity plan for now? What if the other telco goes crazy in a month or two by offering crazy plans?

Chill people. No point arguing so much on this issue.

It's just that, judging from the responses by many people in this particular thread, they are many who are porting their numbers to Digi and many has complained about the bad customer service that Maxis has been providing for many years.

It's just a trend, not about being pro-Digi / Maxis / Celcom. Consumers these days are smarter than before and they know what they want and which offers the best values and rates while at the same time, providing good customer service.

If any network operator that has gone over the head and be ignorant, this is the price they have to pay hen MNP goes nationwide. If you are not doing anything to improve yourself, why should consumers stick with you?

Among all three network operators, the one that is going more aggressive in promoting their prepaid and postpaid service has got to be Digi, compared to Maxis and Celcom, they seem to be rather quiet.

A simple observation tells that Maxis and Celcom are afraid of losing their customers and yet they can't come up with a plan to counter Digi, hence, they decided to keep quiet about the MNP and hoped that users are too lazy to head down to the designated branch to port their numbers.

I am doing a small research for assignment purpose, hence, the active participation in this particular thread. For the past 100 replies here, many has opted to switch to Digi. It's just like that.

No offense.

Why not we move on and start discussing about MNP as October has arrived and they should be going nationwide anytime soon. Just waiting for the official word from MCMC.
*
Not having a flat rate across all network is what makes Hotlink users run away. After MNP is implemented nationwide, there might be no way for you to know which number is with which operator, meaning you are risking of calling to another network anytime. If the rate is flat, there will be no worries at all.

LOL!!! welcome to celcom!!! and UOX!!!

anyone,one question about MNP...
do this MNP is available anytime, i mean without any due date time to do so??
(as exmple...cannot do MNP after 2009...)
logically dont have thins like that right....
*
Shouldn't be any due date. But there is a possibility that there's a minimum period since your last port before you can port again, like only once a month to avoid abuse. Just my guess.

AFAIK..
maxis is the worst loser now..
with celcom UOX and SOX..
there are also quite a number of ppl porting to UOX and SOX too..
*
I convinced three friends to port to SOX in no time after letting them know the rates. Yes, I'm evil, I'm on my mission to bring down Maxis, at least their userbase brows.gif

yes can switch from Maxis postpaid to any other telco prepaid. Make sure you settle your bills first, and remember to follow up on the deposit.

Prepaid, the cheaper ones will be Hotlink and Digi Prepaid. If your contact a lot of  maxis numbers, then go to Hotlink. Consider Digi prepaid if you sms a lot to other network.
*
Why go for Hotlink if you have a lot of Maxis friends? Since she is using just RM20 a month, she would be paying 36cents/min to Maxis number, and 49cents/min to other network. Not to forget the 60 seconds block. Even if she reload RM30 per month for the 33cents/min flat rate, it still doesn't make sense with the 60 seconds block. Hotlink is NOT a choice under any circumstances I would say.

Why Digi prepaid if sms a lot to other network? It's 10cents/sms. I'd say Digi prepaid if you sms a lot to Digi, since with SuperSMS you can get free sms-es with 50cents cap.

Celcom's UOX make the most sense here, 15cents/min flat rate, 6cents/sms to other network, 1cent/sms to own network.

On Digi's MNP page:

QUOTE
However, please note that you cannot change rate plans or switch out once you've switched to DiGi for the first three months.

Meaning once I port to Digi, I cannot port out in the first 3 months? Is it Digi only or all networks? I just port to Hotlink to change my sim ownership, and wanted to port to Digi now. Meaning I'm with Hotlink only days, will they let me go?
