fren, i suggest this is because digi doesn't allow to switch from digi postpaid to digi prepaid right?
*
Yes, I already mentioned earlier. Mitodna is currently using DiGi postpaid and he wants to use DiGi prepaid. DiGi doesn't allow postpaid to prepaid. So he has to follow these steps:
1) Port to Maxis prepaid (Hotlink)
2) Port back to DiGi prepaid

And your method needing him to port to Maxis postpaid then convert to Hotlink then only change back to DiGi prepaid. My question is why do you need to change to Maxis postpaid when you can straight change from Hotlink to DiGi prepaid?

DiGi won't care if you are either on prepaid or postpaid previously.

Port to DiGi isn't better, my experience porting to D, so far, so not good yet

however, worth to add, DiGi is the almost the affordable plan for me, port got Super Long Life wor, just want to keep the number there for a while, even I not using
*
I think depends on the Specialised store?
My mum's line was ready less than a day, there was one forummer got his DiGi line done in 3 hours. smile.gif

Guys,

I confuse after reading the whole topic...
Currently i using M postpaid, i plan to swith to D postpaid,
But i was in the RM 75 plan and RM 50 for my sub-line
(Monthly RM 139 for both line + some stupid charges)
If i change to D postpaid, do i need to pay for the M post paid for January month? or advice to port at the end of January or the billing date?
Second, how is the D line coverage, i heard that the coverage at the urban area is not so good... but i from KL la...
Lately i found that the M line is very terrible... keep on drop my line...

can advice... thanks
*
Yes, you need to pay. You can port first and pay later when the bill comes. smile.gif
It depends, to me DiGi coverage is good. I'm not from real urban areas - Klang Valley. I'm always in Port Dickson or Malacca but never face any weak coverage issue. smile.gif

between the maxis n digi, which one is the better plan since im using celcom family RM50
my supp line will be using alot
*
What is your monthly usage? smile.gif
What did you mean by your supp line will be using a lot? Meaning your supp line calls a lot or your supp line calls you a lot? unsure.gif

Anyway, you may refer to this chart, don't mind me using it. smile.gif

user posted image

If your usage is about RM 50, then I suggest you to opt for DG 50. smile.gif RM 50.00 commitment fees, RM 0.13/minute, RM 0.10/SMS and RM 0.20/MMS to all networks. You can add in 6 preferred DiGi no. as your Friends and Family, the rate will be RM 0.10/minute, RM 0.01/SMS and RM 0.05/MMS.

user posted image

As for supplementary line is RM 30.00 commitment fees. Call rate follows principle line (DG 50 in your case) which is RM 0.13/minute but SMS is RM
0.05/SMS to DiGi no. and RM 0.15/SMS to off DiGi no. while MMS is RM 0.25/MMS to DiGi no. and RM 0.50/MMS to off DiGi no. It can also add in 6 FnF no. and enjoy the cheap rate as mentioned above. smile.gif

The best thing about DiGi postpaid is it offers unlimited free calls/SMS/MMS between main and supplementary lines and among supplementary lines.

I'm sorry as I can't help much on Maxis as I'm not familiar with its plan, I'll wait for others to explain. smile.gif

By the way, Digi gives 1.01 credit for Prepaid port in.

Yeah, DiGi gives RM 1.01 for all successful port-ins plus free 365 days of validity. rclxms.gif

Then, I suggest you wait till the bill cycle but are you tied with any contract? smile.gif

QUOTE(kei18kun @ Jan 7 2009, 10:59 AM)
thanks alot for the detailed explanation  thumbup.gif

my supp line using around RM100 per month now, i think should be changing that she's the principal and i'm the supp line since she's using more than me  doh.gif

does digi have points like maxis, thinking which one is better
*
Yes, then she should be the principal line and you will be her supplementary line. That sounds more reasonable. smile.gif

Yes, DiGi has bonus points. Every RM 1 spent = 1 point. You may redeem it for bill rebate, DiGi merchandise or if you are chosen for phone redemption too. biggrin.gif

My friend can, she ported out from Maxis and was her brother's supplementary line. However, she had to change to Hotlink then only port to other telco. smile.gif

So must change to prepaid first only can port? tongue.gif

I think so. Though she didn't ask Maxis about this. Once she knew she could convert her supplementary line to prepaid, she quickly did so because port from Hotlink to DiGi Prepaid will be easy.

Hello. Im new here...want to switch from celcom postpaid to digi prepaid. got any problems or bugs ah? i afraid later got problem then makes me regret. btw, what plans are digi promoting now? still got fuyo and mtv powerpack ah? icon_question.gif
*
No more Fuyoh! and MTV Powerpack. Well, if you feel that DiGi's plans do not suit you, you can always port to other telcos. It is very convenient. smile.gif

I posted the below in another thread (sorry about that fruitie ), but was adviced by vikingw2k  to copy it to an old thread instead.

And to aspire2oo6 , this may be old news, but I thought there are always newcomers looking for updated info.

=====
This is just to share the experience of someone who recently did the MNP.

The application was put in about 12pm on Friday at Digi. They just photocopied the MyKad and asked for the existing phone number. They did not verify the existing phone number by checking the phone / Maxis SIM card. I guess it is up to Maxis to verify it. Or else anyone can give any number and do the port.

About 6 hours later, there was a SMS from Maxis and another from Digi regarding the successful port.

After inserting the new Digi SIM card (64K) that Digi provided there was RM1.01 balance included for free. And the validity is for 1 year. So no need to spend extra RM30 to get the Super Long Life feature. The call plan is set to Super SMS plan by default which you can change.

Very straight forward and efficient process.
=====
*
No problem for that. smile.gif
If you have no issue with your previous provider, there should not be any delay in your MNP. smile.gif
By the way, hope you have made the right choice to switch over to DiGi. smile.gif

im so sad today. i've already terminated my supp nos and settle their last bills. then i go to digi center and port my celcom postpaid to digi prepaid. after waiting for several hrs, dig send me a msj that tells there is a problem regarding on my current service provider that is celcom. they said my supp still active but i try call their no but cant. then, i call clcm service and ask why this happened even i already terminate my supp lines. they said that it only temporarily terminated and i've to settle current bill from our bills are issue till the termination. swt. need to pay again. aiya..why la so difficult. cant they just approve it bcoz i already confirmed to terminate those nos. dun know when i hv to settle this. my classes are so pack like sardin....... cry.gif i want to switch to smarter side...
*
Well, since in that case, you really have no choice but to settle the outstanding bill. smile.gif I heard only Celcom needs all its users to settle all bills before porting out.
My friend switched from Maxis to DiGi prepaid had no such problem. There was an outstanding bill but it wasn't issued that time, so she couldn't pay but still she was able to join the smarter army. Just that, weeks later Maxis sent her the last bill and she went and settled it. smile.gif
