My speculation is according to Squeenix year-on-year profits roadmap report.
Long wait ahead guys, but at least it is official now.

I hope I'm wrong too. But we can only take a look at Squeenix's rep in the last few years, it hasn'y been rosey.
Besides, FFVII is technically an even bigger game than XV. Recreating all the assets from the ground up takes an inmense amount of time, even if they keep all the mechanics the same.

i dont mind them changing stuff or gameplay inside but come on, 3 episodes ff7?

i also would not want to wait several years for another episode for the same game play. to be honest, ff13 was shit lol

and if you say full story would be 10 years, then each episode would be 3.3 years? noooooooo
