I get your point that for a lot of people, FFVII was their first experience with a FF game. Many will feel that they should have the same people working on the game before to bring back the same magic. Maybe it's my personality that I'm not a nostalgic person, played FFVII so many times over the years that I kinda wish that they would move on from VII and do something new. Which, from what I've seen of the remake has me excited because they aren't doing the same thing over again.

Would I love seeing Cloud cross-dress, or the dolphin jump into Junon, XIII trying to fit into a sailor's costume or that cat fight on top of the cannon in HD? Maybe. Would I love to see a retelling of the old story with new gameplay styles and set pieces, I want that more. Also bring in Crisis Core into the main story as well, so we know why Aerith has a soft-spot for SOLDIER, Cloud's insecurities and the whole of Wutai.

It's difficult to please both sides, but I hope that they can come to a balance of old and new. While we're at it, there's this great article on Polygon about the creation of FFVII.

Well, to be fair if they want to release a full game instead, it would take them, what, another 10 years? lol

Dividing the game into parts will break the flow of the story. This is not like starcraft where each episode tell the story from a different perspective.

I wouldn't want to play and level up my character till a certain part of the story, only to have it end, and wait for another year to continue lol

Not exactly, first episode will always be a long wait - because they have to design the characters, the animations, the world, the battle system and the UI + outlining the story

after that, it will a synched since everything is in place & all they had to do is voice recording, cutscenes and continuing the story

Well, they DID say that every episode will match the length & quality of a fully-fledged AAA titles

which makes me wonder - what if they release a disc compilation in the future? Will double-layered blu-ray disc sufficed?

They know most FF7 die-hard fans is easily >30 years old now and can afford that kinda of money.

Imagine how many ppl will buy the Collectors Edition. And 3 times some more. Can easily do Aerith, Squall, and Sephiroth figurine for each episode respectively

They already decided to milk it when they start to do The Compilation of FF7 - Advent Children, Dirge of Cerberus, Crisis Core etc.

If price is such a big issue, then just wait until all 3 episodes are out. By the time they are done with the entire game, ep1 and 2 would be diet cheap.

No worries, wasn't serious. I fully understand your rant and I agree with it actually. But just looking at it from a different point of view really.

Well, that because there is too many loophole in FF7. DoC , before crisis and crisis core are more like a DLC to cover up the loophole. Hopefully this upcoming remake don't just follow the exact original FF7.
And yeah, crisis core pretty decent i can say (emotionally attached to it)  .
