Ugh , not sure I like what I am seeing .

And the episodic nature of the game release is such a massive let down.

Looks like the first episode is only going to take place in Midgar so they will need what , 10 episodes to finish the entire game ?

Assuming they need 1 year to make each episode , that is literally going to take them 10 years .

Yep testing it now .

It looks even better than I've expected .
These character models are looking particularly impressive , all rendering in real time .

The non-HDR mode seems to be crushing a lot of shadow details for some reason.

Got through the first couples of chapters , as expected the visual fidelity is outstanding .

PS4 pro version is running at pretty high resolution ( mostly 1620p+) , just like the demo . Considering this is running on UE4 , that is more than impressive .

These character models are unbelievably good looking . It is so genuinely good that it makes random NPC look crappy when you walk past them .
There is a stark contrast between the Unique characters and generic NPC .

HDR effects are exemplary. Especially the effects from the good old FF7 lifestream's green .
Highlights from metal surfaces , street lights and reflection are popping out , with amazing shadow and texture details on the floor and in the darker corner .
The fire effects are some of the most realistic ones among many games .

A number of different destructible in the game ranging from tables , boxes , chairs , bicycles etc ...

The attention to details is intricate enough to make you appreciate the modern Midgar more .

The English V.As are of very high quality as well , I recognized a few from games like Diablo and Dragon Age .
Again some jRPG cultist are always going to trash English voice actors , so you will just have to agree to disagree here.

Cloud , despite everyone saying he is not the talkative type , is very chatty in the new FF7 reimagine .

He is constantly talking to someone or something , to himself and he actually replied to every cynical comment thrown by Barret .

Combat system is an eyecandy . I would have preferred the ATB system but I am liking the newer , faster combat system which is smooth , solid and dynamic .
As you find yourself dodging incoming attack , for eg to the rear of a shielded enemy , any subsequent attack would transform into magnificent combo moves .
I would have compared it to a slower pace version , of " Tales of " and Star Ocean series but with less demanding grasp on timing.

The materia system didn't seem too have changed much .

Not liking the new remixes of the OST , particularly the battle theme . It has lost some of the " oomph " for me .
