Guys, any good and recommended hotels in BKK which has rate lower than 1000 baht and near to BTS skytrain? Thanks.

If you only want to sleep at night and the hotel facilities is NOT important the check out :

www.kritthaimansion.com

the hotel is just beside "Stadium" station on the skytrain route. Opposite MBK !!!

Along the side road"SOI" there are lots of other hostel with room for double beds. A bit small but clean and comfortable. Suggest you walk along to find one you are comfortable with. Price about Bath 500 to 800 per room/night.

.......................

Bro . Stimix is a season travller to BKK . His suggestion for the earlier trip iternary is best for short trip to BKK. Lots to do if you want
to see BKK and its surrounding.

Heard of River Kwai at Khanchanapuri, Elephants walk along the river, Raft ride along the river, Dinning along river Kwai ??

Or visit the Wat which is similar to AngKor wat but near KORAT ??

Visit the dinasour grave yard near Udon Ratashima ??

But to have a sense of the local life style, Check out their beer at 40% of what we pay here. About RM3.50 per bottle ( 500ml) !! Their pork leg , thai salad, beef ball noodles, etc at their local foos centre . Usually there is one at most TESCO or Big C hyper market. Then enjoy a good cup of coffee at their local " Black Canyon Coffee" outlets.

........................................

Have a good and enjoyable trip.

Suggest you try to look at Guest Houses near MBK ( Mah Boon Kong ) which is in the city area. Just abt 5mins walk to MBK. Price varies from B500 to B 800 per room. Comfortable to stay but small with attached bathroom. Off Sumkhuvit Road. Ie White Lodge and lots of foreigners stay there too.

There are several along the Soi ( Side lanes) that are available as the period you mentioned are off peak season. So getting rooms is not a problem.

As MBK is shopping complex, the BST is just next to it. And there are lots of Taxi and tukTuk serving the shoppers there. So getting around is not a problem.

Do get a map of BKK.

As for walking around, Sumkhumvit Road is a good place to walk and shop .....

However if your still prefer to check out your selected areas, then Wendy House is centralise and within walking distance of most of the shopping area.

Hope this helps. smile.gif

Hi all....

Im travelling to Bangkok this May.... So i have done a bit of homework, and looked up some places to stay... Need some opinion...

1. Take a nap- silom district (1150baht)
Adv: looks pretty to me, and near night market (suan lom??)
Disad: red light??

2. Suk 11- sumkhumvit (900 baht)
Adv: cheap, good feedback
Disad: No place to jalan jalan at night... sad.gif

3. Wendy house- siam square (1100 baht)
Adv: nice location
Disad: not exactly pretty but feedback only seems good

Please correct me if any info above is wrong... And feel free to add on the adv and disad
Any comment guys??
I would like to choose place where night time can jalan-jalan nearby, near to public transport...

Thank you!! Looking forward to holidays!!!

Btw: are all the 3 districts near to each other??

Hi,

I was introduced by an agent to a 3 Days 2 Nights Free & Easy Holiday in Bangkok staying in 5 Star Grand Sukhumvit Hotel at Sukhumvit Area.

It cost RM370 per person including 2 Way Transfer & 2 American Breakfast.

I think it is quite cheap.. So asking your opinions

Is it cheap for a 5 star hotel in Sukhumvit Prime area?

Thx

It is about that price for Sukhumvit hotels.

I presume it is during the Off Peak Season ( Ie :-- Aug - Oct ).

Just to be on the safe side pls check if that hotel is the same one as listed on the internet. And the agent is a reliable one.

Now, due to the Flu, there are few asian visitors. But the Westerns are still going there. It seems that the Thai Tourist is pushing very hard with promotions in Europe!! Met many europeans when I was there last week.

Have a safe and enjoyable trip.

HI All,

Just for info.

1 person suggest :-

Take an AIr Express Bus ( AE01 to 04 ; different route to city centre) at Flat rate of B150 from the airport to the city centre centre. Go to the Ground floor(1st Floor in Thailand) and ask the Air Express counter how to get to your hotel. They would suggest a combination of Bus and Skytrain or MRT. IE :- AIrport to Silom Area ( AE01 ) then walk to the nearest Skytrain station to go to your destination. Just ask them for advice.

You can try the Local Buses but is crowded and takes a long journey to city. Cheap.

2 to 4 pax suggest :-

Take the Airport Taxi ( Sanction/Controlled by Authority there ) where you pay at the counter before you board the Taxi.( Much safer than Taxi touts) . And you have a receipt given after payment at counter. You can complain to the company/authority if you want with details of the taxi & offence/complain if you are unhappy. Abt:- Bath 350 - 550 ( depending on location/distance )

More than 4 suggest :-

Call the Hotel/Guest house and request their assistance. Book whole van and if possibe work out deal for trip to surrounding area like Kanchanapuri /Ayuttalla / Floating Market/etc with the van driver. If Only airport to hotel at city . About Bath 1100.

Hope this helps.
