Hey people,

Need a little help here. I'm going to Bangkok this coming July for 5d4n. Am planning to book from Air Asia package (flight + hotel) and it cost about RM650.. I would like to know which area is the best for shopping, sight-seeing and of course convenient to travel around.. which area do you people think best describe what i'm looking for? is it sukhumvit. silom, or khao san area? please do let me know the name of the hotels which are affordable as this is a budget trip.. also, pls suggest a place that is safe yah as there will be only 3 girls going..

Thanks in advance!

hey all, a little help needed here..

if i were to stay at pratunam area, is it convenient for me to travel to chatuchak and other tourist areas?

also, is pratunam located near to places like siam paragon and the city center?

am still deciding whether i should stay at pratunam, silom, khao san or sukhumvit area..

i would like to stay around the city center with convenient transportation provided..

please provide some suggestions regarding this.. thanks for your help! smile.gif

Hmm, what other tourist areas are you looking at? Chatukchak can be reached by BTS and its my recommended mode of travel, though you prolly wanna hitch a cab back depending on how much stuff you bought.

Pratunam itself doesn't have a BTS station and I believe the nearest one is Chitlom's and Rachathewi.  Its not too far away, could be walkable but everyone has their own walking distance preference..... so I suggest looking at your hotel's location and see how far it would be.

Always best to go around on the BTS anyway, cheap, fast and no hassle with taxi drivers.

Hahaha, can't really help out too much there since I don't stay in hotels when in BKK.  Sorry! But the street that I live in is finely located though.  Major malls in walking distance and/or 1 or 2 stations away.

Mostly are 5 star hotels though.... but you can try Erawan or Amarin, lotsa malls around it and pratunam is pretty close too, not to mention central world is just literally across the street.  Don't recall their rates though sad.gif

Anywhere near a BTS should be fine really.

hi there,

i'll most probably be going next year July.. just planning now so that i can book hotel and air tickets at cheaper rate..

i'll most probably be staying at pratunam area because others don't seem to be suitable..

yea, worse comes to worse, just get a taxi or tuktuk to travel around..

which hotel are you staying?
