i just gave up waiting n got the rog swift instead last thursday. something tells me im gonna regret the wait. i dont know, after reading all the QC problems, and seeing how the freesync asus pricing, i think it will be more than current ROG swift.

if my item got problems, its not guarantee they will hgave stock to replace it asap seeing everyone wants it. so yeah, thats what i did, maybe after a few years. i will change it to IPS.

for now, i will have a good looking TN rog swift on my desk.

normally i would agree, just based on reputation for their usual trend of product quality. but surprisingly the acer gsync 144hz 1440p reso 27'' gsync review was quite good. only issue was probably the build quality in reference to the glossy plastic used for the frame. not sure about the screen itself whether is reflective, but i don't think it is.

Not sure on the asus equivalent for freesync in that area, but looking at the performance of the monitor, seems to me the acer won out :/

anyway surprisingly this year acer actually had a product that stood out from the rest of it's competitors for once  smile.gif

so bottomline, can't easily declare like this. need to check the reviews for the nitty details to reach a proper conclusion when comparing the 2.

Acer Malaysia does not carry this LCD yet. If you're buying this from a retailer then most likely it is grey imports. The only challenge might be on the RMA part smile.gif

I got one from Ideal Tech, after they triple assure me that I can do 1to1 exchange if I get a defective unit. Thank God my copy was a great one, I can't spot any dead pixel or stains.

For some odd reason my Asus 280X can't do 144hz on it, only 85hz as Windows (7 and 10) report some display port link problems. No joy with custom resolution too.

Nvidia cards works perfectly with it, as well as Gsync up to 144hz.

I just found out this monitor is selling for USD830 (RM3500) in the US!

Wow! I got mine from Ideal Tech for only RM2600! That's almost RM1000 cheaper!

Is the XB270HU sold in Malaysia the same model as the ones in US?

What's the deal?

I decided to get one too because of the "lower" price here. I should be the same model. Seem like the Gsync didn't carry much premium over the Free-sync Asus model unlike in the US.

can you guys give any feedback on the monitor? any shortcoming? How's the g-sync perform?

It's performing perfectly well as advertised for me, just don't ask for things it is not there... like DVI input and stuff. The stand is a bit flimsy compared to Dell's Ultrasharp series, but since I only touch it once, it's not a problem at all.

Gsync is awesome, I never knew I'll be so happy seeing zero screen tearing.

There's a Nvidia problem that the GPU will clock higher in windows desktop at 144Hz, setting 120Hz solve the problem.

Perfect, best monitor I've ever used. And once you've tried gsync (or freesync maybe?), there's no going back.

I'm running a gtx 780 and no tearing or stuttering. Awesome!

Perfect. Much overkill for Dota 2.

144FPS all the way, with some games being capped at 60.

G-sync works flawlessly (with 980 Ti).

Yeah, I've asked Acer FB page before my purchase on where to view the monitor, they pointed me to IdealTech. I guess they're the only one for now?

since the price has gone up for this model plus widespread issues regarding the QC of Acer, other options would be to wait for a new refresh model of the Predator series with non-glossy finish plus better design, and hopefully better QC too.. drool.gif

Lazada, Lelong got for RM2.9k. Buy from Lazada is better when it comes to applying discount voucher.

But for me since it's nearing to Nov already might as well wait for the new Gsync monitors, either Asus PG279Q (4ms IPS) or Acer XB271HU (slightly improved spec plus better looking)

I'd like to remind ppl who are considering buying from lazada, normally goods sold from lazada are not eligible for warranty from manufacturer. If this is also true for the monitors.

AFAIK only Dell monitors bought from Lazada aren't eligible for warranty by Dell Malaysia. Acer has its own store on Lazada. Search for Acer Online Store on Lazada website.

Wow, very fast for IdealTech to take the new XB271HU. Good for those who wanted to spend a bit more for the monitor that look really nice. The look of the older 270 is really so-so.
