budget trip, enuf. estimate expenses only EXCLUDING airfare & accomadation >>16000Y(rm560)/day/2pax.
say airfare 2pax return = rm1500 + accomodation rm200x7=1400 total rm6820 excluding rail/metro (its very subjective, depending place of visits u go) This post has been edited by vincentwmh: Sep 1 2015, 05:52 PM |

QUOTE(Neo|ofGeo @ Sep 2 2015, 09:44 PM) Eh if only Tokyo from my shallow research, i plan to>>i don't think you need a rail pass using suica would be better unless you really get around the city more than 5 times per day. 1)3days tokyo metro & Toel subway pass to cover the city - cost Y1500/pax 2)3days kanto area pass to cover kawaguchi/mt fuji, disneyland, nikko - cost Y8300/pax; 3)1day 2-way express bus to Gotemba - cost Y2880/pax; that's 7days travel plan out of my 12days in tokyo, rest of days still no plans yet. need advice, will travelling with suica cheaper/better alternative to cover the above This post has been edited by vincentwmh: Sep 3 2015, 11:00 AM |

QUOTE(RegentCid @ Sep 3 2015, 02:05 PM) Hakone are own by Odakyu Company. with this info, i decided to drop the 3days subway pass(1500Y) and just use Suica.Odakyu are Private line which Kanto Pass are useless here. Subway pass are 1500 Yen for 3 days means one day 500Yen. You can used up that much or not? Means you have to travel around tokyo by metro alot alot per daily only worth it. Otherwise just get a Pasmo / Suica. Plus Pasmo card can used on any 7-11 / Dawson / Family Mart too. regentkid, for my travel to >> kawaguchi/mt fuji(day 1), disneyland(day 2), nikko (day 3), is it best to take 3-days kanto area pass Y8300? any cheaper alternative? gotemba PO(day 4) by express bus Y2880 seperately? |

Kanto pass cannot used on Kawaguchi / fuji Because this area transport are Private company Fujikyo Monopoly. Going Disney are Metro so Kanto pass are useless. Tobu pass are much useful at Nikko. Basically Kanto pass useless. RegentCid, great, good advice. will drop kanto pass then. hv check on the 2days nikko pass (2670Y). i will take this; disneyland, will travel by metro; pls advise further, do they have anything ie pass like the nikko pass that covers kawaguchi/mt fuji. or how best should i cover this after i drop kanto pass? |

QUOTE(MrOne @ Sep 21 2015, 05:06 PM) for my upcoming nov 12D11N-Tokyo (kanto area only) inclusive flight & hotel for 2 pax was budgetted for rm10-12K.. BUT after finalizing 70% of my ground itinerary & food (due to too much good recommendations on net/blog) the budget gonna get BUSTED and is now near the range of 15K on paper. my piece of advice, 12D11N is kinda too long/costly, maybe 8D7N would be perfect This post has been edited by vincentwmh: Sep 22 2015, 02:13 PM |

QUOTE(ivzh @ Sep 22 2015, 02:25 PM) my budget for makan for my coming trip rm300/2pac/day.. doable? >>my budget for makan for my coming trip rm300/2pac/day.. doable?plan to have at least a good proper meal per day.. breakfast mostly from convenience store... i plan to bring only rm5k worth of yen for my 12day trip (makan/transportation/admission fee) and will try to utilise my credit card if it's allowed enough? Yes, for 12D (12x3=36meals), Per pax, i allow breakfast Y600x12=Y7200; mid-range lunch/dinner Y1000x20=Y20000; and high range lunch/dinner (sushi etc) Y4000x4=Y16000; total Y43200x2pax=Y86,400, say Y87000/36meals for 2 pax = rm258/2pax/day >>i plan to bring only rm5k worth of yen for my 12day trip (makan/transportation/admission fee) rm5K = <Y150000 for 12 days? i deeply DOUBT so for 2 pax!! if u meant bring rm 5K per pax, then OK..makan oledi Y87000(estimate), transport/ad fees very subjective la, if no go anywhere, maybe can. don't count of credit card unless u all meals/ shoppe at 5-star This post has been edited by vincentwmh: Sep 22 2015, 03:47 PM |

QUOTE(jefferenelee @ Sep 23 2015, 07:48 AM) I would bring RM7k for our 10 days trip, purely on foods, entrance fees and transport(minus out the Takayama Hokuriku pass which I will buy in Malaysia). m'sia debit card can do withdrawal in jpn atm? cimb ok?And I will activate one or two Debit cards for ATM withdrawal just in case. My budget is less than RM5K/pax (total cost exclude shopping) for 10D8N. Should be on track I think. |

QUOTE(jefferenelee @ Sep 23 2015, 12:54 PM) Yes, need to activate in Malaysia for overseas ATM withdrawal. Hong Leong can activate yourself online. For other bank, just give the customer service a call. alrite noted. i did that for S.E.A countries. just not sure if jpn also possibleAfter activation, can withdraw JPY from ATM with some charges. I heard the exchange rate is better than Money changer in Malaysia. |
