Last time in Osaka also similar situation. Being tourist, try to make full use of the timing.. getting out earlier but yet most shop still close. Even the Kuromon Market in Osaka (market man).. 8am like still sleeping.
*
Someone here adviced me that 7am breakfast at kuramon ichiba is too late. I went there almost 6am and nothing open yet. Next day I went there at 7 something and only the grocery shop started to open. Other shop just started to bring in the fishes and other stuff. While the restaurants actually mentioned that they open later than 8am. Lucky there's family mart nearby so I can have my breakfast.

Maybe in autumn the timing is diff.

In the end, I never had the chance to visit the market when it's open. But still early morning walk during autumn is dam freaking nice.

I prefer they cancel or re-time kl haneda route. The timing is a waste of 1 leave/off day.

I hope they faster announce the Hokkaido flight. Currently I can't make any plans for Hokkaido cos cannot book budget flight from Tokyo to sapporro.

I already kena the Narita cancellation.

AirAsia is still in the midst of informing the affected passengers. You can contact them trough the premium hotline or drop a message at their livechat requesting their pre-flight team to call back.

AirAsia is offering 3 options to affected passengers.
1. Shift the flight to Haneda at no additional cost. You may also change the travelling date within 14 days of the original travelling date.
2. If you insist on flying to Narita, you will have to take a Kuala Lumpur - Bangkok - Narita flight. You will need to pay extra for the Kuala Lumpur - Bangkok luggage. Fly-tru is not available so you will need to collect your luggage and check in again at Bangkok.
3. Get a credit refund to your AirAsia account and you can use it to book a flight for yourself or anyone else within 180 days from the day you have chosen this option.

Cash refund is not available.

For people who never experience snow before like me, is there big differences between those powdery snow in furona and normal snow in other place?

I plan to try skiing but there's too much ski resort in Hokkaido.
Many recommended furano for their powder snow but the fees kinda on the higher end side.

If people like me won't know the differences then better for me to choose cheaper skiing place.

I just found out that it is very rude to eat while walking in japan. I did it few times while eating ice cream during my last trip there. Now feel so ashamed.

How about eat while standing? Example I buy food from Lawson then eat in front/beside the lawson store?

I know some stall provide sitting/standing place to consume their food but how about those which doesn't provide. Have to find some bench then only can sit and eat?

Sorry for asking lame questions. I don't to be rude to the host country.

Thanks michlove.

I actually read that article before posting. The thing is the article and the comments gaves different answers. That why I enquire here to get more infos.

About tachigui, those stalls do provide standing place to eat. But how about those who do not provide designated area to do so? Example; food bought from Lawson, can I stand and eat in front(not directly in front the entrance) the lawson store? Or I have find a bench at a park then only I can eat?

Sorry for asking same questions.

Anyone rented a car and the toll card for use in Hokkaido during winter?
After returning the car and card, how long does it take for the company to process/"checkout" everything?

I'm asking cos I plan to return the car at 8am then straight head to chitose for my 10.30am domestic flight. Can I make it or its better for me to return the car a day before? I plan to rent from companies nearby the airport.

Have any exp on driving on snow before?
If got please study on some Japan winter road sign. Disobey it will cause you a heavy fine penalty.

If no exp sriving on snow road better dont. Accident rate on you as high as 70%. Once accident your holiday can bye bye.

Honestly, I have no experience and it is one of my concerns. But I do have 4w offroad mud driving experience but still I doubt it would help at all.

I would getting the driving tips from my fren who used to drive in Hokkaido during the winter. And I have gone through some websites regarding of the driving tips during Hokkaido winter.

The reason why I have driving as one of my travel options is because some of my planned night snow activities require me to be at at certain meeting points at late night. From what I been advised, I have to miss the fireworks at sounkyo ice festival if I Wan to catch the last train to Sapporo. Well unless I stay at night there.

However I'll take ur advice as top priority and schedule my activities around the public transport schedule.

i got ask for toll card, forget wat is the reason... very troublesome
but actually u no need toll card
coz no jam and very few toll  icon_rolleyes.gif

8am is very early, im not sure they shop is open yet
it is best if u able to email them and ask for the opening time and the return location

the last time i rent, i just return the car... no need any procedure
they just check the car condition and petrol in full tank (with receipt)
tat all, then they will use one of the company bus to fetch u to airport (free)
