If August 2 to 7 then Aomori + Akita. For the summer festival.
Nebuta and Kanto Matsuri.

If not around these date then head south to Okayama for summer delicious peach.

Going to japan on the 2nd week of august.
So will miss nebuta and kanta matsuri i believe.
N im not so into makan biggrin.gif

Im now planning to go hiking Northern Japan Alps, 4D3N
But not difficult one la, don't hv the stamina anymore tongue.gif

This would cover:
1. Kamikochi
2. Mt. Tate
3. Kurobe Dam
4. N other nature area around those mountains

So im thinking of which place should i stay, should I go for:
1. Matsumoto ( Seems to be nice, got Northern alps view, n can rent bike, so less boring tongue.gif )
2. Omachi ( This place does not have much to do beside being close to Mt. Tate)
3. Takayama ( I believe this one a bit far)

Thanks RC smile.gif

after the recent eruption of Mt Hakone, we are thinking to change our itinerary to somewhere else around Kanto region, which can be done in a day trip from Tokyo. Any recommendation? Anyone been to Boso Peninsula?

p/s: Nikko, Kamakura, Enoshima is already included in our trip.

I went Universal Studio Osaka on early December (when Winter started) and enjoy so much as is cooling but not sure February is freezing or same. But during the day we went, there was slight rain here and there, and it was indeed an experience where it rain icy water suddenly while myself and my son still on the ride in the air. tongue.gif

If you really planned to go during winter, do be the earliest customer and make full use of the park operating hours, as they closed early. We were so reluctant to leave the place, hence after the park closed, we had our dinner at the Hard Rock (across the entrance) and after that return to the park gate and snap few more pics (in the dark). rclxms.gif

Been there twice and my last was in January 2013. It was freaking cold and we wish we didn't have to come out of the backdraft stage where fire provided sufficient heating laugh.gif

My first trip was in October 2007 and it was cooling. I'm guessing September would only be less cooler but a good period nonetheless where weather is concerned.
