Hi all, i am planning for a 10 days trip to Japan (First timer)

Knowing that most of you have been to Japan before, i would appreciate it if you could give me some opinion on my itinerary.

I plan to land in Osaka and fly out from Tokyo, do you think it's a good idea?
My trip will basically be like this: Osaka -> Kyoto -> Tokyo. In between i might add in Nara or Nayoga perhaps.

But what i'm trying to ask is, if the whole idea of landing in Osaka and fly out from Tokyo is a wise one? Or do you think i should land and fly out from the same airport?

Please advise.
And i would appreciate it if you could suggest some of the itinerary that would be practical for my trip. Thanks in advance!

Not a really good idea. I did almost similar too you just that I flew to Tokyo and flew out of Osaka while attending a conference in between. My schedule was squeezed to the brim and i didn't really spend much time for each area. I can start my journey at like 5am and sleep at 1am.. but it was fun though. Still young can be hardcore a bit. I wanted to go Nara as well but had to cancel it one day before laugh.gif

hi all,i will be flying to osaka in november.. currently my friend and i are contemplating between kurokawa onsen in fukuoka and kinosaki onsen.

between the two, we felt that we would love kurokawa more but the transportation cost to get there will be much higher..

would like to know whether there's big difference between the two onsens and whether it's worth it to travel all the way to kurokawa...?

thanks.

Since at Osaka, Just go nearby Kobe Arima Onsen.
All onsen are same...all got sulfuric smell.
Only different place different of design of town and different omiyage only.

Kurowa Onsen too freaking far away from Osaka City. I rather go Yufuin.

Even nearer Kinosaki Onsen also need 6 hour train (Limited Express) journey from Osaka City.
Normal Train takes up to 8 hour

Hi guys, would like to get feedback on my itinerary which i've worked out so far. Will be travelling to Japan in Sept. Flying in from Tokyo and flying out from Osaka. Advice is much appreciated.

5 Sept - Departure to Narita @ 0045AM. Arrival at 8.45AM. Buy Keisei Skyliner + 3 Day subway pass. Check in to Airbnb apartment in Nishishinjuku. Explore Shinjuku & shibuya area. Meiji Shrine & Yoyogi park.

6 Sept - Visit northern Tokyo area (Tokyo National Museum, Asakusa, Tokyo Skytree, Ueno Park)

7 Sept - Tsukiji Fish Market (is it advisable to go on Monday?) Imperial Palace / Garden, Aihabara, Ginza

8 Sept - Visit Odaiba, National Museum of Science, Roppongi

9 Sept - Check-out. Take Limited Express "Romancecar" to Hakone. Check in Hakone Chiyodaso. Explore Gora, Lake Ashinoko. Owakudani is no go now due to volcano warning. (Should i get the 2 day Hakone Free Pass or pay for each individual transport? I'll be heading down to Kyoto after Hakone via Shinkansen hence not coming back to Tokyo)

10 Sept - Check-out of Hakone Chiyodaso. Take Shinkansen to Kyoto. Check in to Airbnb apartment in Gion district. Explore Kiyomizu-dera, Philosopher's Walk (what else is nearby that i can visit as estimate time of arrival at Kyoto will be around 2PM. Will be getting the 1 day Kyoto Pass (is it worth it or should i just use Suica and pay per use?)

11 Sept - Visit Kinkakuji, Arashiyama, Kyoto Gosho (Imperial Palace), Nijo-jo Castle

12 Sept - Check out. Take Train to Osaka. Check in to Airbnb apartment in Fukushima. Explore Namba & Dotonbori

13 Sept - Osaka itinerary still work in progress

14 Sept - Osaka itinerary still work in progress

15 Sept - Day trip to Kobe

16 Sept - Fly back to Malaysia at 11AM.

Transportation is really a pain expensive.. total for 5 person now estimated around RM 3,500 for all the ground transportation (not yet include suica reload). Should i get the Kyoto and Osaka day passes or pay per use? Tokyo site i believe the Keisei + 3 day subway at 3500 yen is quite reasonable as the fare from Airport to city alone is aound 1k yen easily.

I don't plan to pack too many attractions per day as it's supposed to be a free and easy trip with family. Airbnb is the real saviour for us as managed to get apartments that can fit all 5 of us at reasonable rates.

Btw, any nice recommended place to have Kobe Beef steak while in Kobe or Osaka?

Thank you.

Yes . You need Odakyu Hakone Free Pass. Without this Pass. It will cost you even more on Hakone Transport. From Hakone back to Odawara Station also need depend on this pass.

Kobe , Near Sannomiya Station. I already give you the Clue, the rest just do the homework for the balance

Hi guys,

I'm planning to travel to Japan but I will be travelling to Beijing for a few days then only to Japan.

But Airasia doesn't have any flight from Beijing to Japan & MAS doesn't seem to have any flight date available.

Anyone here can advise from where I should book my ticket.

Kindly advise (First timer here).

Hi all it's me again...
Just wanna ask you guys,

If i plan to stay 2 days in Osaka and 3 days in Kyoto, and plan to visit those typical tourist attractions, do you think a 2 days Osaka Amazing Pass + 3 days Kansai Thru Pass is good?

Or 2 days Kansai Thru Pass + 3 days Kansai Thru Pass better?

Please note that i need to transfer from Osaka to Kyoto as well. In between might goto Nara.

Please advise. Thanks in advance!
