QUOTE(vincentwmh @ Oct 16 2015, 11:56 AM) RC, what about buy seiko watch in japan? worth my time looking for it compared to malaysia There is grand seiko and also Astron (GPS), However I think the GPS cannot be used in Malaysia. So really depends what you like. I quite like Astron and quite useful in Japan as train normally leave on the dot. Anyway I am not sure what is being sold in Malaysia though.

QUOTE(ivzh @ Oct 19 2015, 12:26 AM) hi jefferenelee our's plan is about the same.. tokyo -> kyoto , would like to take the earliest train, but worry will be late.. plus we are staying in shinjuku, transfer to tokyo station take sometimes, and worry about getting lost in tokyo station so to all sifu, 1)early shinkansen can be sold out? (during mid of novermber) 2)if let say i have preserve a seat in certain shinkansen, and somehow miss it. I still can take next train with free seating right? 3)will the shinkansen ticket counter have a long Q in the morning? I took the same route tokyo -> kyoto via shinkansen 2 years ago... what i can recall is i need to run tokyo station haha anyway i will explore abit in tokyo station day ahead while i make my trip to disneyland. I do take a lot of early morning shinkansen (6am) for business and normally there are still reserve seats. However there are a lot of business people and there is a big possibility you will not get 2 or 3 seats in a row. Sometimes if you are in the first stop, ie Shinagawa, you can be first in line for non reserve seats.

QUOTE(falcon27 @ Nov 4 2015, 05:18 PM) Hi All Expert, I am traveling on end of Nov, I wish to ask where can purchase Disneysea ticket with cheap price? I got heard that as foreigner might not able to purchase at the gate. Is there any "jalan" to purchase a cheap ticket like thru travel agency. Thanks This is the first time I heard foreigners are not able to purchase directly in the gate. Maybe this might happen in a traditional Onsen. As Disney is a global company they definitely be sue for discrimination. If you need cheap ticket you can go to some "second hand" shops. This shop they buy ticket from ppl who cannot make it to concert, train, etc. Then they resell it cheaper than the original price. Not much cheaper though.

QUOTE(BboyDora @ Nov 6 2015, 09:54 AM) I mean using their sim card and insert to my Xiaomi 3. I see some where they say cannot. But I know Japanese ppl go use Xiaomi phone as well. Thats why wanna confirm. Legally all phone in Japan should have a "giteki" mark before they can be used. Read here for more information: http://eng.blogfromamerica.com/archives/60. Legally my iPhone I brought over from Malaysia is not legal even though it is the same as what it is sold in Japan. Simply because I do not have the giteki mark. For Xiaomi and other phone to penetrate the market here, they will need to pay a lot to get it certify. I know because I have help one phone maker to get it certified, but in the end they gave up. However its difficult for people to catch you for using an "illegal" phone. As far as I know no one has been caught yet. Previously you can only get sim card from the big telco like NTT, Softbank and KDDI where you need to buy the phone as well. Recently there are more players coming into the market with sim free phone, hence that is the reason why you see more ppl using Xiaomi or other phones. Anyway, I can go on an on about this but this is a travel blog.....

QUOTE(torres09 @ Nov 17 2015, 10:37 AM) dear sifus, considering to go japan for winter next year. if i book my domestic flight 1 day before my departure flight back to Malaysia, will there be risk of missing my departure flight? it is during Feb (winter) and as I know snow can sometimes make flight cancellations or big delays. for domestic flight, price wise not big difference between jetstar, vanilla and peach. reliability wise, which is better? Which part of Japan are you talking about? Not all places have snow.
