QUOTE(Devil4life @ Jul 9 2015, 01:59 PM) I also manage to find that 2 options. After u guys mentioned bout Kobe-A-1, I quickly check tripadvisor. Wah sound so much cheaper than I thought. Someone claim 3 pax bill 19K yen, another one 2pax bill just 10,200yen. Not sure they are having a meal individually or sharing it. Seems like Kobe-A-1 is cheaper and from trip advisor it mention mostly local that go and quite empty. I thought at least have to spare out roughly RM500 per pax. |

QUOTE(Devil4life @ Jul 9 2015, 06:00 PM) Ya. based on previous RC tip I googled based on the hint which got that 2 search. But I got a feeling RC meant other than that 2. I having similar idea too, going kobe for 1-day trip jalan abit and lunch, that's all. But i dun 1 onsen.. "shy shy".I haven't eat such high class food before but since going Kobe I don't mind trying it as I can say I add the authentic Kobe (but I also saw some review mention taste like Australian beef) at Kobe. I was thinking to go Kobe one day trip, had kobe beef lunch then proceed to kobe arima onsen then back to Osaka. Is it doable or too rush for 1 day trip or should I stay 1 night at Kobe? Main purpose is to try onsen and eat kobe beef only and some touristy sight seeing. I would think is the same Kansai region (and perhaps even from same farm at Kobe) but cannot say ate in Kobe I think some ppl probably having beef in Kobe thinking they get the right kind of special Kobe beef. That was my concern too... eat the wrong beef but still thought it is. So gotta read the menu carefully, as the other beef is expensive too.. I would rather 1-off spend sky price on the right beef rather than mistakenly having an expensive beef thinking tat is kobe beef. Coz actually I don't eat beef but this gotta be my 1-time experience.. at least try before. Just like luwak coffee.. drink once and that is forever. But luwak I got it free as a 'tester'. Nobody going to give me kobe beef free Will consider RegentCid suggestion. |

QUOTE(asokakenji @ Jul 16 2015, 12:50 PM) - Leave to Osaka Though I am not very familiar with Osaka but been there. I stayed at Namba during my last trip. Dotonburi, Kuromon Market, Den den town, are all same area. You may consider put them all together. - Use Osaka Amazing 2 day pass - Osaka Bay area, Kaiyukan, Cruise ship santa maria, Sakishima tower (Morning to noon) - Dotonburi, Tomburi River Cruise, Kuromon Market (Noon to night) 8/11/2015 (Osaka)(Osaka amazing 2 day pass) - Osaka Castle, Osaka museum of housing and living, Tenjinbashi underground street, onsen Naniwa no Yu - Grand front Osaka, Umeda underground street, HEP Five wheel, Umeda Floating garden, hot spring spa Suminoe 9/11/2015 (Osaka) - Den den town, Shinsekai, Tsutenkaku tower, tennoji park, ABENO HARUKAS, Shinsaibashi - Flight back to Malaysia at 11.35 pm. Not sure if you need that 2 days pass or check the map again to arrange the travel route in order to save time as well as cost. I recall last time I used a special pass that cover the train route and visitation to both Kayukan and Osaka Castle that give quite a good deal. |

Sorry ya.. don't scold me lazy first.. I tried but can't find the info.
Anyone know during winter, in average what is the timing for last train in osaka? Will they stop operation earlier for winter? My hubby will be going for concert at Festival Hall Osaka (end about 11pm). Our earlier plan was to stay Namba for 5 nites, but now he plan to go for concert, so thinking should we move hotel to Umeda (or around Festival Hall) for that last 2 nite for his convenient. Concert on 4th nite. |

QUOTE(fadz8L @ Aug 13 2015, 08:16 AM) Actually for the past few years, yen is quite good rate. But now RM diving crazily daily, certainly not good time to trade most (or any) foreign currency. Anyway, yen still affordable .. come to think of paying 100yen buying Daiso stuff compare paying RM5.30 here.. you will know you can afford the holiday still. |

Am going to korek all my balance HKD & SGD and bring to Japan. Since both currency already increase alot for the last 2 years. Tis behavior a bit odd but hopefully can neutralise the lost in exchanging MYR with JPY now.

QUOTE(michlove @ Aug 18 2015, 12:04 PM) wei, good idea wor...I have a bunch of SGD here...if I change it to yen, in Japan better or in Malaysia? I wil change it in Japan, coz not sure they will do direct exchange from SGD to JPY here. If they want you to change fr SGD-MYR-JPY, then believe that you will rugi a bit as there involve 2 transaction (money changer earn twice from you). |

QUOTE(RegentCid @ Aug 18 2015, 05:59 PM) Making noise in train if passenger behind or infront can giving warning. Most of Japanese will do. Actually many foreigner doesn't know Japan practising quiet train ride. I was overly shock during my 1st trip. Having 6yr old boy with me, as you know how much typical Malaysian will "ngee ngoo" the kid. But suddenly feel uncomfortable coz the whole train so silence. But we thought is the culture, and never cross our mind that is a rules. Anyway, trying hard not to behave odd.. I end up "sshhh sshhh" my son when I wanted to call him out. If I was inside a train. I meet this kind of passsenger, I will direct ask train staff give them a strong warning. Only lately from a TVB tourism show, get to know that Japan practises quiet train ride. |

QUOTE(miyamoto_musashi @ Aug 19 2015, 01:29 AM) Hi guys Depends individual. If you want it to be limited into 20kg, sure can do it. But do make sure you spare at least 5kg each for some light shopping stuff. Sorry if this has been answered before. But I'm planning a 8 night trip to Japan with my gf (3nights in Osaka and 5 nights in Tokyo) Would 20kg of baggage allowance (Air Asia) per person be enough? Should I get 25? 30? How much did you guys need? Thanks in advance! You may consider: - type of clothing that you need for that particular weather, and if clothing can be recycle wearing - will you opt for laundry - or bring stuff for half trip, then shop for the balance. (never tried in Japan, but I did that alot in Thai) and not to forget you have 7kg handcarry each I bought 20kg each for going, and coming back with 30kg (myself) & 40kg (hubby). But now feel abit stupid with the 40kg and there is no way we can drag a luggage that heavy. |

QUOTE(Xzens1110 @ Oct 27 2015, 05:34 PM) They are having public free wifi in town now. My sis went to Osaka & Kyoto last September. She said that thou some of the spot where wifi are not quite strong, but overall can use. Hence, she conveniently using google translate to communicate with Japanese. Unless your hotel doesn't have wifi, or you need 24hrs x n-days of all time strong wifi.Things change so much since the last time I visited 2 years ago, where I have to bring my pre-downloaded map and using sign language to communicate. I'll be going this mid-Dec. |

Everyone have different needs when packing for holiday. My aunt's relative came to KL from HK (3 person in a family) only with 1 hand carry.. stay 5 days.
My sister went Osaka/Kyoto last September with purchase only 20kg luggage from AA disregard my advise to get enough weight to fulfill her shopping behavior. But she said stuff are pricey, and she's going to travel light. At the end, she can't buy more coz her medium size luggage bag already full and doesn't want the hectic of carrying an extra bag. And now she is giving me a list of shopping items, expecting me to carry it all for her this December as she had not buy enough. This post has been edited by cc980024: Oct 28 2015, 04:57 PM |
