Will it be too long at Osaka or I should extend 1 day for Kyoto? Just afraid the crowd for USJ so preferably do not want to go on weekend. Fri should be more ppl than Thursday right?

My travelling date is 19th March till 28th March. Praying can catch a glimpse of sakura towards end of my trip.

Appreciate all the sifus help here. Thanks in advance.
*
Yeah, looks doable but of course depends on what you plan to cover/do. For USJ, yes Friday should have more crowd than Thursday. I will be in USJ on the 25th biggrin.gif Let us pray together for an early sakura season tongue.gif

is there anyway to buy Universal studio ticket in advance when i am in japan?

Browsing their official website, seem either i have to queqe for sameday ticket in their ticket booth or i need to buy from the travel agency in malaysia..

Actually i m still undecided yet, whether to visit Disneyland (went once) or USJ or doing both.
I m travelling with my 2 year old girl.. so most likely we wont be able to enjoy those roller coster/4D attraction.

Hahaha.. Yupe im going to Osaka on Jan 2016 which is ........... Winter
So that's why I better split both place into 2days.. But if arashiyama with golden pavilion? Can make it into one day?
*
actually, all depends on what you plan to do at any particular space. So when you ask whether can fit or not, do state what you plan to do there. From there only we can advice.

I will do what traveller will do when they visit the place for the first time, take photo, explore around, shopping around....etc
*
still vague. for example, at fushimi inari, are you going to hike up the hill? or at arashiyama, are you going to take the sagano train, or visit the monkey, or explore all the temples? Else, if touch and go, i can say you can even cover fushimi inari, arashiyama and golden pavi in 1 day.

Hi, just like to ask those who had been to Kyoto and Takayama in 2nd to 3rd week of November, is it cold? I read that the average temperature is between 6°C~18°C. I am reluctant to bring the down jacket as it is quite bulky. Just wondering if we can survive with just thick sweater or wear in layers. Is it just like a Genting Highland or much colder?

We have been to Korea's winter in December so I know what to wear for winter but not too sure about autumn.
*
I was in Kyoto in the last week of November and I just wore a sweater and layering. Colder at night, so slept with heat tech shirt.

Hi,

Could someone advise how long needed to discover these places in Nara? Is 5 hours sufficient (exclude transport time to and from Nara)?

Kofukuji 興福寺
奈良公園  Nara Park
東大寺 Tōdai-ji
*
If you are only targetting that 3 places, yes possible. Can even cover Kasuga Taisha

- Can I get any food from Nishiki Market after 5 pm?
Yes

- Arashiyama until lunch time (is the bamboo grove less crowded early in the morning? any idea what is the earliest time can we enter?)
The bamboo groove has no gates, so can enter anytime

- Fushimi Inari (Is it ok to arrive at about 2pm?)
Yes

- Is it recommended to squeeze Nijo Castle and Imperial Palace in this day?
Looks pack since you will be at Nara in the morning.

QUOTE(sleepy 1 @ Jul 27 2015, 03:30 PM)
I am going to Japan with my parents and wife during 26/12/15 to 5/1/16. We would land at Kansai airport at 10:20pm via AirAsia X. We plan to go to Osaka, Nara, Kyoto and Kobe for 4 ~days with Kansai Through Pass, then head to Tokyo for the remaining days with 7 days JR unlimited pass. Lastly, go back to Kansai area a day before we head back to Malaysia.

There are few question that I would like to ask....
1) Due to the late arrival time to the airport, can we still able to get the Kansai Through Pass Ticket at Airport?

2) Which transport should we catch from airport to hotel?

3) Where should we stay in Kansai area? (Please advise the reasonable price for accommodation as I am the person who pay the whole expenses)

4) Where would be the place/restaurant that we should try during the trip?

Your advise would be much appreciated.
*
Question (2) depends on question (3). So it is better for you to have rough plan first.

There are 4 seasons in Japan. You have to decide what you wanna see first..... Snow? Flowers? Yellow brown leaves? Or Leng Lui....

Then you research based on that by googling i.e. "When is the best time to see ...... in Japan".
