QUOTE(PhakFuhZai @ Jun 22 2015, 09:41 PM) bro, I was there for only 7D6N I am going to Kyoto and Osaka too end Oct/early Nov for double the duration you were there and I already know I won't be able to cover anything close to 75% of the must-go attractions. In fact, there has never been a city I visited that I thought I'd covered everything. Which is good cos then I have a reason to re-visit! due to solo trip, I tend to wake up at 9am, ding dong here and there, then only go out from 10 onwards some time were spent in window shopping and random encounter at the street as well, for me I would rather go lesser places so that can be more immersed in the zen temples in Kyoto. I spent longest time in Kiyomizu and Shoren-in, the woods there can really make one feel calm. I told people before, Japan is not a place where you can get it all in one trip. Hence there's no rush for me, probably in two years time I will go there again, yes my first time to Japan... hehe people say go SG or HK more than one time will feel bored, but Japan go multiple times you will still get different excitement That's the best part of solo travel. Immersion. You can take your own sweet time ding-donging in places you feel like and more often than not, I find it interesting to just walk around aimlessly and watch the city function in its everyday life. I'm very kura-kura in my travels and not the sort to hop from one "must-see" attraction to another. Been reading this thread and previous versions for "homework" |

I know the rules that requires homework here. This is my draft plan for my itinerary this coming March 2016, very preliminary plan.
Is it doable? Planning the route then only plan for accommodation and transport. Day 1 Sat - Reach Kansai Airport night - Overnight at airport/Stay in Namba Day 2 Sun - Kyoto Day 3 Mon - Kyoto Day 4 Tue - Day trip to Nara Day 5 Wed - Kyoto - Osaka Day 6 Thu- Osaka (USJ) Day 7 Fri - Day trip to Kobe Day 8 Sat - Osaka Day 9 Sun - Osaka Day 10 Mon - Osaka, night flight Will it be too long at Osaka or I should extend 1 day for Kyoto? Just afraid the crowd for USJ so preferably do not want to go on weekend. Fri should be more ppl than Thursday right? My travelling date is 19th March till 28th March. Praying can catch a glimpse of sakura towards end of my trip. Appreciate all the sifus help here. Thanks in advance. |

I will be in USJ on the 25th My travelling date is 19th March till 28th March. Praying can catch a glimpse of sakura towards end of my trip. Appreciate all the sifus help here. Thanks in advance. |

In your homework you would also have researched what are the attractions, activities, etc in Osaka, no? List down all the ones that you want to do/see/visit, plug them into your itinerary, and then you will see like woi i schedule everything liao and still got one day left over leh. Then you know it's too long lor. 2. I went 2 years back, arrived on 6th apr already was a few days past peak season and in the petals dropping stage. so got hope. Good luck hehe. |

QUOTE(michlove @ Jun 26 2015, 03:12 PM) How much was your flight ticket? Air asia I presume? It's my first time to Japan so most likely will be doing touristy stuff. Have you start booking your accommodation? Btw, I might be going Onsen. I've searched that Kobe's Arima Onsen is quite popular in kansai area. If I don't plan to stay overnight (as it seems quite exp), is it sufficient for me to cover Kobe or better 2 days to spend there? Main purpose in Kobe is try kobe beef, Chinatown walk walk, earthquake museum, mount rokko. If got time will slot in onsen. |
