Greetings to all
I have been following this thread a few weeks now. My wife and I currently gearing up for our first trip to japan which will be on 18th Oct till 23rd Oct. Landing in Haneda and back via Kansai. The plan will looks like this: Day 1 Touchdown, sleep at haneda royal hotel, wander around the airport Day 2 kawaguchiko Day 3 Tokyo Day 4 Kyoto Day 5 Kyoto/Osaka Day 6 Kansai We only planned to visit 3 or 4 places in a day, the trip itself is more like saying konnichiwa to Japan as we will go again next April but pure focused on tokyo and years to come Anyhow, I have some inquiries that I would like to ask the members here: 1) Is there any high possibility that the bus to kawaguchiko first trip will be sold out early? 2) during the flight (both kl > haneda and kansai > kl) , may I know how many meals time that will be served by air asia? 3) in kyoto, is it much efficient to take the taxi or the bus (since some of the attractions a bit far from the train station) ? 4) will it be easy to book the first train nozomi from shinagawa to kyoto? i mean like will it sold out really fast? Thanks in advance This post has been edited by heavencloud: Sep 15 2015, 09:50 AM |

If you are heading to Northern Alps, this bus rides may save alot
A return bus ride from Takayama to Shirakawago is already like 4000yen per person [attachmentid=4949045] [attachmentid=4949046] This post has been edited by michlove: Sep 15 2015, 10:46 AM |

heavencloud have you already bought flight tickets? Cos 6d5n trying to cover Tokyo AND Kansai is stupid (it's effectively only 4-5d after you take out the time at airport, shinkansen, etc).

I just found out that it is very rude to eat while walking in japan. I did it few times while eating ice cream during my last trip there. Now feel so ashamed.
How about eat while standing? Example I buy food from Lawson then eat in front/beside the lawson store? I know some stall provide sitting/standing place to consume their food but how about those which doesn't provide. Have to find some bench then only can sit and eat? Sorry for asking lame questions. I don't to be rude to the host country. |

QUOTE(michlove @ Sep 15 2015, 12:49 PM) Thanks michlove.I actually read that article before posting. The thing is the article and the comments gaves different answers. That why I enquire here to get more infos. About tachigui, those stalls do provide standing place to eat. But how about those who do not provide designated area to do so? Example; food bought from Lawson, can I stand and eat in front(not directly in front the entrance) the lawson store? Or I have find a bench at a park then only I can eat? Sorry for asking same questions. |

QUOTE(JooSeng @ Sep 15 2015, 09:59 AM) thanks, then i shall prebook 2 meals then the bus route seems complicated from their official website haha QUOTE(deodorant @ Sep 15 2015, 11:39 AM) heavencloud have you already bought flight tickets? Useful index I give 40/100.A return bus ride from Takayama to Shirakawago is already like 4000yen per person [attachmentid=4949045] [attachmentid=4949046] Focus on Limited Express train more better. Either eat inside convinenet store or find a bench at park only start eating. I normally will choose eat at park. Unless that food need consume on spot then I will eat at spot.Sorry for asking same questions. This post has been edited by RegentCid: Sep 15 2015, 02:45 PM |

Anyone knows when is the hanami season for 2016? I'm planning to go Tokyo, Osaka and Kyoto so if I know roughly when it starts and finishes, I can plan where to head to first.
This is my first time going to Japan that is not work-related/student exchange/arranged by family so there will be a lot of planning in my part. I'm going with someone who is a first-timer so we will definitely do some touristy things. Anyone knows any affordable traditional accommodation in Tokyo, Osaka or Kyoto with tatami bedding? If comes with onsen would be great but if not, just want to experience a night of tatami bedding. The trip will be about 7 to 9 days. Would it be more efficient to take a plane or train to travel in between Tokyo, Osaka and Kyoto? Minimum stay in Tokyo would be 3 days because I want to go to Studio Ghibli and DisneySea. Also, would AirBnB be better for a couple travelling? Thank you in advance! |

midnightsunray typically last week of March - first week of April. Weather conditions can skew this by +/- 2 weeks. So if you only going 1 week, there is element of luck whether you kena full bloom or not.
