the important of programming doest choose of fields or industry (even tho it help) the important is the use of the programming skill and the logic. Industry you in it just a business logic. If you are good in the programming skill such as Java, .net or VB you can go any industry without problem.

I work for 5 years from automation -> hospital and to financial industry. It doesnt stop from that. Hope this will help.

oppss i mean total of 5 years in automation (2 years), hospital (2years) and finance (1years and current) industry.

hehe... shame of me tongue.gif, it not because of field or the industry... just because getting a better offer from he company tongue.gif SALARY is reason leaving.

you are right that you may less explore to other languages. This 1 you need to explore youself when free time. Just like me, i taking others courses like java, sql and etc certified to imporved yourself.

Sometime we need spend some free time to improved skill. just my 2cents.

i agree with u ..but ..have how many people can do that or learning by their own??Cause after you back from work already really tired..besides that, self-learning if without any actualy practice also will not affective for the learning....
like what we do on study time..assignment..is practice..
but in real life of working ..it is totally different...:-|

I do my learning. I take nite class and weekend class. Depend you what you aim for.

Even the learning/class is useless (theory) but at least you proved youself are qualify. How do people judge you that you know something. For example they want Java developer and you know java but dont have the certificated? or you have the certificate but u know java (maybe not expert)?

same like driving... even tho you know driving but if you dont have license it useless sure kena saman 1 sweat.gif ! Two must use together. Experience and Learning/Certification.

are u staying in penang???where u take the course??
*
staying in PJ, I took professional course like MCSD, java certified at APIIT. There are alot place that offer in Penang i think.

I also just graduate my Master (MBA) at June. If possible i wanna become project leader or project manager... how to manage a a company, a team rather than very focus on software (specialist) jeje

different people have diff thinking and decision. Stick to it and go ahead !

ermm actually not very great la... i just use my weekend time and nite time to do that. Reduce some entertaiment, reduce some time pak toh kakaka... biggrin.gif Now i am more free cause already finish all tongue.gif

but it cost about 21K for my course havent include book and other material... rafly about 25k total course... did borrow half from family and returning them now tongue.gif (no interest loan) lol

It quite hard for handle, but if u really got desire then u can do it... dont waste your time by doing something not important... do something that benefit your future... i believe who can do it cause u starting to think of future...

Make sure u have financial stability before you take any courses that cost alot money.

edited: me now currently 26 years old. I graduate at 2001 November (degree). Working from 2002 until now. Master graduate at 2006 June tongue.gif
