Sony has announced the a7R II, a 42.4MP mirrorless camera with an image stabilized full-frame BSI CMOS sensor. Unlike its predecessor, the camera includes on-sensor phase detection elements for faster autofocus, which continues to work with other brands' lenses. The camera also has a revised shutter mechanism, rated to 500,000 actuations but also promising less vibration than the one on its predecessor. The sensor is by far the largest backside illuminated CMOS chip to be released, allowing the maximum expanded ISO to rise two stops to 102,400.

If this using lens converter to Nikon lens will reduce picture quality or focusing speed? |

The camera also has a revised shutter mechanism, rated to 500,000 actuations....
if u use silent shutter mode (digital shutter)... means the shutter actuation may never even hit 100count.... @.@ like my A7s,..... i have shot over 100k photo... but i think i only did around 50 shutter actuation for testing purpose when i was buying it... QUOTE(kyLL @ Jun 17 2015, 01:42 PM) many reason, sony first came out with front digital shutter to cope with TTL readout shutter delay... (hard to explain) then they improve it that the A99 has the shortest shutter lag. then on A7s, its virtually No Sound.... so u can become the world best ninja paparazi... since a7s is for paparazi to ninja superstar from the shadow... but we dont compare with digital shutter from 5 years back... today tech has moved forward so much, its actually become more advantage and advance then mech shutter. not to mention the possible of over 30fps thanks to digital shutter. mechanical shutter has pushed it limit at 14fps already, i doubt the possibility to hit 30fps. |
