I heard that Bak Kut Teh was created by a man under a bridge or flyover in Klang and it was specifically sold to drug addicts so that they could gain back their sense of taste.This is because some of them could no longer taste so he sold BKT help them rehabilitate their sense of taste by the strong unique flavor of the dish.

old time port worker poor no money and felt cold when winter, so they pick up all those small small pieces of herbs that fall down from the shipment they carry and put all into a big pot and boil soup to drink to warm themselves up. It was later that they start to gabung money to buy meat and put inside.

the tale is sold by a person on top of the bridge to sell to the rich ppl. cos rich ppl always eat nice food thus cannot taste a lot anymore so he make bkt with rich taste for rich ppl

No. BKT was discovered by a poor man who had nothing but pork bones he managed to beg from a restaurant. He boiled the bones together with some fragrant herbs he found and discovered a new dish.

That shop was the one which popularized Bak Kut Teh. Teh has nothing to do with tea. So, it all started from there. He didn't mention anything about drug addicts also. |

actually the real BKT story is, a china man come here no dog, so they use pork as kut teh
so it become pork kut teh u guy never taste dog meat kuh teh at china, so u guy dunno it almost same taste only meat and ingredient |

I thought bkt originated from Klang right, this is really an excellent recipe, the originator should receive recognition on it. when I was in China, I saw a shop name Klang bkt. feel proud to be Malaysian.
