for casein, I choose optimum nutrition
for intra, I choose scivation xtend.

Thanks for the reply ah_suknat

I'm posting in general. When it comes to bodybuilding supps, what is the first thing comes to mind? Whey? What brand?

But I'm open for any feedback

there are 2 types of supplement buyers

1) 1 that do their research
2) 1 that listen to other people, or just brand follower

for buyer type 1, like me, they dont have fixed brand. they research what works and whats cheap, they probably even buy brandless, in clear plastic with no taste, no branding whey that comes in bulk, they look at the ingredients.

for buyer type 2, they probably only heard about muscle tech, and only buy muscle tech, they look at the packaging

Actually this question is flawed. People frequent different brands for different products. You need ask like... most trusted whey protein brand.

My fav is Dynamize, but if I buy Creatine I will buy Universal Brand. It depend on item.

Was the "Gold Standard" awarded by some accreditation or ratings body?
It could just be branding/marketing hype.
Now if some manufacturer calls their product "Platinum Standard" does it mean its better than "Gold Standard".
After all we know for a fact "Diamond water" is way better than ordinary water.

there is a reason when people asked about which flavour to get next for their whey, they are mentioning ON by default
it might not be the very very very best or top of the line or something, but its value for money

for me
whey = ON
multivit = gaspari
creatine = any creapure monohydrate that is the cheapest

they are all the most value for money, imagine if you're lifting for 10 years, 20 years or 30 years, the amount of money goes into supplement is gonna be a lot, so usually people opted for the most value for money

I'm not going to dispute that as taste is very subjective. I initially thought the use of the term 'gold standard' was not about taste nor value for money which was why I made my posting to try and find out in what way ON was superior to other brands.
Its ok if the general consensus seems to be that ON is among the better tasting brands. In fact I am tempted to try it out when I have finished my present Dymatize Elite Whey.

When it comes to value for money I think Dymatize Elite Whey wins hands down.
ON Whey 10lb = RM400
Dymatize Elite Whey 10lb = RM300

Cheers!

Come to think of it the price of regular 5lbs fr ON whey is really expensive blink.gif Almost 200. You're right and you could get dymatize and add few bucks for 10lbs

Agreed. An extra RM10 you'd get hydrolyzed whey with the exact same properties as ON's Gold Standard. Not to mention lower calories per serving (for ISO100)
