any comments on JBL LSR305P MKII ?

my bose series 3 companion 2 broke due to torn diaphragm, is there a way to replace this ?

The JBL are studio monitors. They sound flat, which may be a good thing or a bad thing depending on your purpose and your preference.

Like most monitor speakers, you will need to ensure proper placement e.g. distance from back wall, distance between the two speakers, distance from listener, height of tweeters, etc. You will also need some accessories e.g. cables, adapters, speaker stands, etc.

Personally i couldn't get used to the flat sound. So i sold mine ady.

Also note that they are often priced individually, so if it seems very cheap, then it's likely just the price of a single speaker. Please double check before you purchase.

Hey guys, any differences between Edifier S350DB, S351DB and S360DB?

Any speakers from edifier supports USB drive for music playback besides the above?

S350 has standard bluetooth, S351 has Bluetooth 5.0, S360 has wireless sub and planar tweeter.

Thank you very much.
Maybe will consider S360.

How about S2000 and S3000? Worth to get I can top up?

If you're used to the small size of the bose and have the budget, the audioengine a2 can be considered, or the a5 if you have the space. Also can consider most edifier bookshelf is good for value too.

The audioengine series has alot of bells n whistles like bluetooth and dac that i dont really need. That's why i dont feel like the price is worth it

What do you think of presonus eris e3.5?

Presonus also a good choice, but again these are monitor speakers. It's up to preference. It sounds accurate if that's what you're looking for. They are popular among PC users due to the relatively small size. It would be best if you can audition them. I believe music bliss has a few monitor speakers on display. Maybe you can contact them to confirm.

Can't comment as I never had them. But very different purpose as the S2000 and S3000 are huge. If for home theater kind of setup, then by all means I think you should go ahead.

Thank you very much. No idea which one suit best.
2.0 or 2.1 system. Planning to use for movies mostly but sometimes music. More for movies than music.

If you're on a budget, usually a 2.1 setup is better for movies, as the subwoofer will give better bass extension compared to similarly priced 2.0 setups. But if you have the money, the pricier 2.0 setups are sometimes capable of reaching very low bass. For example the S3000 reaches lower than S350DB's subwoofer. Which is very impressive. So for movie purposes, see your budget and decide accordingly.

i just checked shopee for lsr 305, 306 and 308 p. all listings are sold in pair.
frankly, i wish they are listed in singles. i bought a pair of jbl104 but only use 1 as a center speaker. the extra speaker becomes a waste.

Sorry maybe i was looking at amazon listings.

I think if you go to shop, can choose to buy single. Because they are individually boxed. I dont think they sell volume matched pair anyway, just randomly pair. My pair volume not equal left and right. If the shop really dont want to be left with 1 speaker then they might not want to sell to you, but this is just bad practice by the shop la.

Use on living hall or desktop?

S3000 got bigger bass driver (6.5" vs 5.5"), have more lower rumble and bass impact than S2000.
But if use on living hall and need the low rumble from movie, better get speaker with sub-woofer.

Planning to use in living room about 10ft x 10ft.
Using for movies the most. Need to find something to play with USB for music if available. Soundbar do have USB port but bookshelf perform better than soundbar. Will use for more movie usage.

My room use mini ones can already cause table too small to place bookshelf speakers.

I think it's a nice bookshelf studio speaker. Pretty flat sounding and sounds quite responsive to what you tweak in editing. It's pretty flat-sounding to begin with so in daily youtube and casual listening you may find it a bit dull unless you add an EQ profile to color your speaker.

If your house/room is very quiet and well-treated like a studio room you'll notice this is quite a hissy speaker. I didn't notice the hiss inside office use where it's noisy until I bring back home. This is quite common le if you don't mind the hiss.

And of course, since it's a studio speaker you'll need an audio interface to control the volume for both speakers.

If mostly for movie, especially action movie, get 5.1 or 7.1 speaker or whatever latest system now. Sub-woofer for the low rumble and center speaker for dialogue.
Want upping your game, get system with Dolby Atmos. Those that got speaker that makes sound as if coming from top.
2.0 or 2.1 sucks if your movie is 5.1 audio, especially action movie. If don't put loud enough, voice hard to hear. If put loud enough, action scene become too loud. Unless your player can adjust the mixing to apply higher gain for center audio.
If not action movie then 2.0 or 2.1 still ok.

Some newer soundbar got impressive number of speaker in it and can give enough distinction for sound in middle (dialogue) and side, plus back and top.

USB for music? As in USB drive with music files? Use bluetooth much easier. If the speaker support APTX HD or LDAC, can go for it to use bluetoooth. Pair it with your handphone or tablet.

Thank you for the detailed explanation.
Any budget 5.1 speakers to recommend? Possibly below RM2.5K?
5.1 got choices with soundbar. See if speakers got choice then I will go for speakers.

I wish to use Bluetooth for it but when phone battery dies then need to charge or must be near the speaker only can play.
Will see if got spare phone to use with Bluetooth.
Maybe I can consider MP3 player.

Will research more before buying during November sales.

5.1 speaker or soundbar is quite pricey. Not sure can get below 2.5k
Long time never check about home theater speaker so not sure what is the latest bang for buck speaker.
Can try ask at this thread link since they know more about home theater set.

after bouncing the idea through and fro from my SO

was suggesting S360DB but it seems budget abit excessive
am intrigued by the idea of a wireless subwoofer but couldnt find any with a lower budget

does anyone know if there are more affordable 2.1 system with wireless subs ?

else i might just go for the r1700bt
