For planar, I'll still recommend to go for a destop set up. An amp with enough power will drive them to a different level. I like to pair planar with Audio-GD. It can provide powerful output for planar magnetic.

For portable wise, Hugo 2 definitely is a good choice. The amp is quite nice already, but the strong point still the DAC section. You still can use it as a DAC and connect it to another destop amp if feeling the power is not enough.

P/s:prefer dac/amp that support DSD playback.

Congratulations for 600's. I have HD6XX and will listen to it with magni 3 later today because all this time I pair the magni 3 with HD800 SDR and westone 30; they sound pretty good 

yup. you would need to have an amp with balance out as well. there are 3 types of balance:

1. balance  use with DAP
2. 4 pin XLR balance
3. 3 pin XLR for each individual channel.

i am currently using the 3rd option. my old Moon Silver Dragon cable is 4 pin XLR with a XLR to 6.35mm adapter.

i borrow a Master 10 from my brother to test a month ago with AudioGD's ACSS cable. i do not have the same AudioGD cable with XLR therefore i cant conclude which is better.

however with my own XLR and RCA, i find it both the RCA and XLR to be better than the ACSS. With this, i cant really say that the ACSS is inferior because i am using different cable for this test.

the AudioGD Master 10 is a very powerful and musical amp.
