I just bought a M50x myself, and I'm also looking for a DAC to pair with it, if it does really can make it sound better. Currently I just plug it into my MOBO (Model: Gigabyte H97M-Gaming 3) built-in audio port, and it sounds pretty good already.
But if a DAC can make it sound even better, I wouldn't mind buying one. May I ask, how much is this X3ii and where you bought it from? Also, does it plug directly into PC USB port? I'm totally new in this headphone + DAC thing, really have no idea which or what should I look for in order to fully utilize my new toy (M50x). Some recommend me to buy a sound card, some say DAC better so I'm in dilemma.
it really depends on what do you need if you are looking to have the option of a portable player on the go, X3ii is a good choice. if you are look at just to upgrade your desktop setup, then there is the E10K and NuPrime uDSD
Source: Desktop PC Equipment: Xonar Essence STX (LM47920HA mod) + Beyerdynamic T1.1 Requirement: Desktop AMP. Need smoother sound on musical instruments but emphasis on vocal, current setup vocal is shadowed by musical instruments Budget: RM2k, can stretch a bit.
current setup vocal is too soft for my like, looking for tube amp that will smooth out overall sounds and bring forward vocal more.

Only know a little about hardware, since mostly into software thing. Nothing specific model in mind
compatibility with both Windows and iOS is a real challenge especially when it involves both 30pins and lightning
Can you please recommend a good headphone amp for:
Source: PC with Soundblaster Audigy 2 ZS Equipment: Beyerdynamics DT770 Pro 80 ohms Requirements: For music, mostly EDM.
I heard that there's something you can plug in from the soundcard to cancel it out if you're using an amp with a build in DAC right? to make the sound much better.
RM200 - RM500, cheaper the better as I understand this pair of cans do not need high end amps to drive it right? but you can suggest higher ones also if it really makes a whole lot of difference.
I currently have a pair of M Audio Av40 active speakers attached to my desktop PC. I'm looking to use an external DAC to improve the sound quality, which can also serve as a DAC/amp for my Audio Technica ES7.
budget 2-3k, oppo bdp-105 seems not bad but over budget. bdp-103 just fit my budget but it dont have asynchronous usb to connect to laptop/pc, which i expect in dac.
I have Xiaomi Mi Max with Trinity Delta/IM50 and the sound just below average in my opinion plus it does not support PCM 24bit/96kHz. Got any decent portable DAC/Amp for android that can support playback 24bit/96kHz and above via USB? Budget around RM500.
i am looking for headphone amp for my use at office .. i own Fiio e17k and satisfied with it but buying another model would help too.
At first I wanted to buy the same model for office but seller suggested me to buy different model .. One of the model he suggested me was Fiio X1 ..
It looks great and with additional feature as player, it really give me convenience when travel on long flight. I do not need phone. . My concern is Fiio X1 is actually an amp/dac, etc that is same as e17k but additional feature of player?
I'm trying to get a sound card for my friend (birthday present). He plays the piano and have told me he used to have good sound card that can do editing (casual) and all.
