the price listed on rocketmiles surely will be more expensive than the promo rate available in the hotel.

unless you dont mind paying more, rocket miles usually will be good if you book early, like 1 month or 2 month before, than only you can get 5k miles and above for some hotels,. if you book using rocket miles for like immediate stay, most hotel only can give 1k or 2k miles.

this is my experience after using rocketmiles for close to 1 year now.
