 is clockgen effective in overclocking?, how to check if it really overclock?

using an unoverclockable mobo at my hometown, and used clockgen to oc it
from 2.53Ghz to 3.33Ghz...

is it really overclocked? or its just figure?
how to check?

You can also check by pressing the Windows logo key + Pause/Break key.

Yes, it is. Verified by CPU-Z. Tested with superpi and folding@home. They give positive results.
