those who put 3 months FD, what is your backup plan upon maturity actually?

where would you evaluate the situation and where would you put the money after 3 mths? there must be a good reason to do that.

Compared to 15mths, you would have do 5 times of: drive to bank, parking, wait, fill forms, etc... or perhaps you want free gifts 5 times kah?

hmm never thought of that before...if really can get 5x gifts, can consider that too if no hassle aka too free =P

Haha, my second batch 18 mth 4.25% FD is on 25/9, followed by 1/10.  biggrin.gif

I don't foresee any problem. Except I was not comfortable that my 1st 15 mth 4.5% is ok, but second one has to complain to RM and waited for 2 weeks to get it.  shakehead.gif

Not too comfortable with SCB's system. As mentioned there are still forummer that did not receive the 6 mth interest and one of them PM'ed me asking for personal info (to complain to SCB).  biggrin.gif

Hi bbgoat, just want to clarify with u again, as i went to SCB PJ branch last week to sort out of interest issue, the guy told me that i can only get full sum with interest upon maturity... and yes i put FD for both 4.25% and 4.5% but none of them I received interest credited to my account..

So are they supposed to credit interest 6 monthly? May i know which branch of SCB are you putting the FD?

Thanks.

Part 2:  tongue.gif

Went to PBB to withdraw the FD. Bankers cheque RM0.68 each. But has to be from the FD. So that causes the BC's amount to be RM0.32 at the back and some 999 number in front !  doh.gif  If I want to keep the nice principal intact, then have to pay RM6 for the BC.

Anyway, decided to save money and pay RM0.68 for the BC.

PBB has changed the second 6 mth step up to 4.28% (from earlier 4.08%). They honour'ed this one. Respect them on that.  notworthy.gif So received more from this FD. PBB paid interest direct to the SA.  biggrin.gif

Placed FD in AmBank for the 12 mth 4.2% promo. Received an umbrella and a mug.  rclxms.gif

Then placed FD in HL for the 15 mth step up with eff rate of 4.26%. HL branch claimed they just received the brochure TODAY while in the brochure it said start Sept 1st !  doh.gif  Weighted heavily on HL vs AmBank as the extra 0.06% is enough for a good dinner for 10.  tongue.gif

I think so far for PIDM coverage, the HL 15 mth 4.26% is the best.  rclxms.gif Monthly interest payment some more.  rclxms.gif

OCBC 13 mth 4.2% still running but no more gift (called them to confirm).

Got any free gift from HL for placing FD? rolleyes.gif
