But the 4% is just promo rates right or usual rates?
*
seems like a promo rate until 31 December 2015. read here

furthermore, you only need to deposit RM50 each month to "activate" the 4.00% p.a. rate, unlike traditional smartsavers which need RM1k to activate 3.05% p.a. rate

There's a yearly withdrawal limit of RM25k implies that this is not for short term investment.

it's not. after 31 December, the rate goes back to 0.5% p.a. ... unless of course, OCBC introduce another promo rate that addon to the base rate of 0.5% p.a.

note: This account has a maximum withdrawal limit of RM25k per calendar year and no limit on deposits. Please visit any OCBC branch to remove this withdrawal restriction (to have unlimited transaction limit).

Does it mean we can remove the withdrawal over the counter any time this year?

Captain, Ah Goat Sir & Big Magician.... A Good News...  thumbup.gif

BR paid my FD dividend calculated from the first day of May until 24th of June, total 55 days interest.

I calculated the earned interest rate based on 55 days in my iRakyat account..

BR did not lower my FD rate.
BR keeps their promise to give me back the original FD rate...

Maybe you should look at it from another angle, if you did not calculate and assumed BR would pay you as promised, you would have been cheated.

And not first time BR have not paid you what they promised, previously you had to ask them to pay you the monthly dividend right?

Seriously Bro, if it was me I would be pissed off me time and would not give them any business..... then again I would never put my money in BR anyway, hahaha.

They should allow withdrawal a minimum sum a month. Not really worth it as I used like rm1k a month. Cause if I withdraw every month rm1k, I only get interest of 0.5%

If you are looking for a savings account with high interest rate that allows withdrawal without affecting the rate, you can consider TRUE Savings account from AmBank, 2.8% p.a limited to 3 withdrawals a month. Check out this thread for more info: -

Is this e-SmartSavers account applicable to Double Savings Deal where 50% fund goes to 3-months FD & 50% goes into the SmartSavers account? I don't think so, right? Since this one is online-based but I was wondering since it is SmartSavers account too. Anyone can confirm this? Thank you.

Not applicable as that one must open with branch. I was just at OCBC to open that FD promo today and asked about that.

SmartSavers is the traditional savings account. no change.

e-SmartSavers is the online savings account, promo rate 4.00% p.a. until 31 December. After the end of promo, the promo rate shall no longer apply and the board rates for OCBC SmartSavers Account will apply.
