Just a quick survey.

I'm looking for 2 hp air-cond for my living room. Between buying branded basic non-inverter model air-cond like Daikin/Pana and premium inverter model air-cond brand from China say Haier/Midea/Hisense, Both with SAME PRICE. RM2k~

Which one is better? Branded/basic non inverter or Non-branded/premium inverter? SAME PRICE!

Please give your comments!! Really need it. thumbup.gif

I've just installed the new Panasonic 2hp inverter CS-S18TKH in my living room and the manual mention the AC needs bi-weekly cleaning of the nanoe-g generator with cotton bud. However, I don't know how to access the generator since it's at the back of the louver. Does anyone know how to manually open the louver during cleaning?

My advise of purchase, avoid to buy aircond that advertise any kind of ion plasma or nanoe-g generator. 1st it is overpriced, second you won't able to know (and no consumer detector to check it) whether it generate the amount as advertised, 3rd the fact is the generator can easily clog and lost its effectiveness, i'm talking about minimum 50 to 60% reduction. Talking from my engineering experience in electronics industry, is up to you to believe or not. RM2930 including installation is just overpriced for a 2hp inverter.

I don't know but unless I choose another brand, the RM100 price difference between standard inverter and premium inverter seems negligible to me. Besides, the indoor unit design for that premium inverter with pearly chrome finish and slimmer profile looks more luxurious compared with old plain white color standard model. Specs wise also, the premium is more energy efficient with less average power input.

Idk if anybody already asked the same question but I have to wonder whether it consumes lots of electricity when we put AC on standby? Because I already set the ON timer and OFF timer settings so I rarely touched the remote control let alone turn off the main switch.

What do you guys think?
