Few days ago my Hitachi AC (1.0HP Inverter - XE10CC) started to blow hot air only.
Technician found out the outdoor unit fan longer work, he only able to clean AC unit but not repair / fix it. Hitachi Customer Service said they no longer have the PCB / motor fan for my model as it over 10 years, they suggested me to bring over the motor fan to Service Center (Bangi), then they can check to find any compatible mode from their stock. :/ Anyway... CFO think it's better to get new AC unit - thinking of change to 1.5HP Inverter instead. I'm surprise to see there are different China brand AC in M'sia market, the price are attractive plus the warranty provided - like AUX, CHIQ and TCL (other than Gree, Haier, Hisense & Midea). The new AC should run around 8 hours daily, prefer reliable + plenty of spare-parts + fast cooling + budget within 1.8K to 2.5K (can get lesser better lah). Below model are based on my finding, any suggestion? - JPN >> Daikin (FTKU35BV1MF), Hitachi (RAS-XH13CKM), Mitsubishi Electric (MSY-JS13VF), Sharp (AHXP13YMD), Panasonic (CS-KU12AKH-1). - Local >> Acson (A3WMY15BF) - CHN >> AUX (AS-12MER3DI), Haier (HSU-13VRA), Hisense (AI13TUGS), Midea (MSEPB-13CRFN8) |

QUOTE(Jason @ Dec 12 2024, 12:24 AM) Acson / Daikin is your best bet Thanks for the feedback... yes I'm not getting Panasonic this time after read through the feedback in this thread, also I'm not a fan of Korean brand AC too.Made in Malaysia My concealed 2.5hp York made in 2009 still got spare parts. My view is you either go the cheapest route with China TCL or AUX, use and dispose when time comes. Or go all the way with Acson / Daikin. TCL and AUX may seem like no brand but in China they sell many units — not as much as Midea, Gree and Haier, but because that market is 1 billion population, still way more than what Acson sells here. I have TCL, Hisense, Haier, Midea, Mitsubishi Electric, Panasonic, York cooling king and Daikin before they bought Acson. I would avoid Panasonic like the plague. Used to be good. TCL is my latest acquisition — have yet to use it, renovating the condo. Midea inverter I had 1 failed out of 3 units. Popular brands will have better chances of spare parts — Korean brands not very popular. Or in the case of TCL / AUX, it is almost half as cheap as an Acson so just pakai buang. Spoke with AC guy I got to know, his response: - Not to get newer batch of Daikin AC as it no longer as reliable as older model. - Hisense have issue with after sales service due to lack of technician due to big sales, also his client sold 4 units and three have issues. - Panasonic not cold as other but good in energy efficiency - Hitachi seems like no longer in AC business, only limited number model available. - (**Forgot to address) Sharp is good but smaller outdoor unit compare to other brand, if you don't mind it keep running go ahead with it. - Now market more toward China brand AC due to pricing... suggest me to get Haier VRA model instead (can get around RM1.6K+ plus installation) This post has been edited by soyusa: Dec 12 2024, 11:06 AM |

QUOTE(DragonReine @ Dec 12 2024, 01:12 PM) Coldness is I think subjective, also depends on house insulation/room size/how tightly sealed your doors and windows are, and how many ° of coldness you prefer The reason I mentioned about Panasonic not that cold - I have three units of Panasonic Inverter AC (1HP + 1HP + 2HP), installed few years ago.If your room is "leaky" type with big gaps around the doors, or face a lot of sun without heat rejection filter, Panasonic inverter especially will struggle to cool. If you want 16°C temp then don't even think about inverter. My bedroom with solid door that are flush to floor + installed window film with high heat rejection, my Panasonic inverter can maintain at comfortable 23°C without consuming a lot of electricity. All my room are properly seal to avoid air leak and set temperature at 25 Celcius only. Hitachi AC is in the room easily expose to sunlight during the day (easily get warm at noon) while another two rooms with Panasonic AC expose lesser sunlight (remain cool during day). Compare both Hitachi and Panasonic - we prefer Hitachi AC as it can keep the room cold easily during day and night, way better than Panasonic AC unit. QUOTE(Jason @ Dec 12 2024, 11:51 PM) Correct — Sharp outdoor unit is smaller so it is suitable when space is an issue. If it’s not an issue I would skip Sharp. Thanks for the feedback about Haier, Midea and Acson.Haier is a big company with own manufacturing. I’ve got 4 units of basic 1 hp circa ~2017. One unit had a capacitor failed, changed and it was good as usual. Last year got a 1hp Haier inverter to replace my Midea inverter that kaput… problem with lousy installer. After an Acson trained technician fixed it, all good. Unless Haier is cheaper, I would choose Acson over it. Hisense == Hitachi. They have a JV and shared a factory. Not sure what’s the latest. But again, don’t bother. You want a Hitachi just buy Hisense — I have 4 of these cheapest basic non inverter, cold AF! Well, I always preach either go big or go cheap. Don’t go in between. And frankly for my own use where reliability is important it’s Acson, otherwise it’ll be whatever cheap China manufacturer I can get my hands on at that time. Which explains why I have so many different brands. For the Hisense... I think better get Haier for better warranty coverage (3+10) and the price not that far. As far as I know Hitachi Malaysia offer two newer model - AirHome 100 and AirHome 300 (not sure whether MY made or not). The other Hitachi AC models are old stock, confirmed MY made. |
