I just found out, my capacitor for AC compressor has been swapped with a cap ayam one. it even says the electrolyte is vegetable oil. this probably happened during one of the "cleaning" service. I always wondered why this unit always screaming loudly. Had it changed, now it runs smooth.
At the end of the day, lesson learned. Keep an eye on people doing services. This is probably their textbook tactic to get more jobs and steal original caps on unsuspecting customer.

QUOTE(Demonic Wrath @ Feb 25 2020, 05:17 PM) The reason why R22 piping is usually not compatible with R32/R410a is due to the operating pressure of the refrigerant. There's not really a R22 piping so to say. The difference is the thickness of the copper pipe. You'd have to know what is the thickness of the existing piping. At most it will burst at a certain area and causes leak. Can't think of anyway for it to be hazardous... just more repairs and need to replace with new piping. Buy a caliper and measure? Panasonic says to use thicker than 0.6mm.

QUOTE(kswee @ Feb 8 2020, 07:14 PM) My first R32 installation after 11 years not involved in ac services. Mcb -10amp Uses light switch - 6amp Wire - 1.5mm Max amp usage around 3.2amp @17 Celsius 26 Celsius @ 0.5-0.8amp System not vaccum, if vaccum could increase the efficiency. Inverter? Since variable amp. What brand? I can't decide, currently considering mitsubishi inverter 1hp. Looking for best power consumption. But then when i heard inverter board can cost rm500. Normally, i just swap the run capacitors myself when the compressor stops running.

measured my panasonic r22 2010 1hp non inverter ac. 3.12A at the outdoor unit.
3.12x230=717.6W
i used a cheap clamp meter, so can't tell if it's super accurate.

QUOTE(zizheng @ Mar 12 2020, 10:33 AM) hey guys, im contemplating between ME and Daikin. Any idea where are the units made from? Thanks. Panasonic made in malaysia. I just installed pu9. Pretty good. At 24c, the outdoor unit is chugging quietly. If inverter get pana or daikin. If normal maybe can go with mitsu. This post has been edited by shirohamada: Mar 13 2020, 01:04 AM

QUOTE(zizheng @ Mar 13 2020, 11:29 AM) yeap i'm just doing the non-inverter AC just kinda skeptical with the shop seller was telling me saying that Mitsu AC parts is from Jpn, assembled at Thailand and QC at Singapore -.- anyone can verify this? Unlikely lol.

QUOTE(pcGeeK @ Mar 14 2020, 06:54 AM) Is it still the case now ? Looking for aircond with the longest warranty, next priority is energy saving Warranty is useless. They're all 1 year. Only the compressor is 5 years or more. But the thing hardly breaks. First to go is the electronics.

QUOTE(pcGeeK @ Mar 15 2020, 06:33 PM) Thanks bro... midea is 2+5... so more inclined towards Haier now lel. if inverter, get panasonic or daikin. if non, get any with r32 gas. compressor doesn't die, the run capacitor does. the outdoor unit is pretty simple. it is an ac compressor afterall but if inverter, the outdoor unit has a pcb, well to convert ac to dc. that will die first.

QUOTE(pcGeeK @ Mar 16 2020, 09:52 PM) I see.... thanks.. so non-inverter more durable.. when taking inverter vs non-inverter, it's quite tricky to factor in the difference in initial cost, energy savings, then lifespan Depends on your room. If you feel cool at 25c with your current ac, inverter will run at half power.

QUOTE(k2017 @ Mar 17 2020, 09:06 AM) For daikin inverter 1.0hp, should i go for FTKG28Q or FTKU28A? I think the main difference is just that 28A comes with air purification filter and 5 star energy rating. While 28Q only 3 star. ftkq. ftkg energy rating is 3 star, although that could be an error in testing. This post has been edited by shirohamada: Mar 17 2020, 08:40 PM
