This series technically below par cooling capacity at 9000btu only and 4 star energy saving..only the badge is good if daikin take anything but their cheapest series. You will see other R32 series in their range is rated at >9000btu, costs more lah.

Maintenance basically all the copper pipes for gas/liquid are sealed piping, nothing much to do unless leaking gas. Once in awhile hose down the ODU fins.

Usual cleaning of filter/dry vacuum n soft brushing the IDU, pretty much standard across all brands.

Proper installation especially the angle for drain pipe for water, whilst it is the cheapest component, if pipe sagging (horizontal runs) can start ponding water n algae inside. Enough slope angle (1 in 100) drop must be used so it flow correctly. Steeper angle is better, but may not be doable due to space and other constraint.

What is your room dimension and are there any walls which face South or South West and what items do you use in the room? Like laptop only or server etc?

9,000 (3,400-9,200) and 4star ST.. turbo btu 9200 so close to nominal btu 9000, it make no difference in cooling if u press the turbo button. (can say almost all other 1hp INV will beat its cooling performance).

In comparison for around the same price range, you can get better cooling performance:

1) even the Hitachi RAS-XH10CKM btu 9,210(3,070-11,260), RM1199 online, while not as great as its previous CJ series, it can do up to 11k+ turbo btu (~20% more cooling capacity). This also 4 star ST.

2) Or Pana X Deluxe 1hp CS-XPU10WKH-1, 9680 (3070-11600) btu around RM1299 online can be considered as well. This is 5 star ST.

Mitsu 1hp JS economy series also another 8800 nominal 92xx turbo like the FTKF..there are 2 variants of 1hp but I usually see Msia market having the lower spec one so cannot recommend JS series. The better spec is the premium GR series but price also premium..

Should be ok, I am using Sharp AHXP10WMD since last year; replaced a 10 year old Mitsubishi Electric 1.0hp which was literally falling apart.

Not sure if the watts rating on Sharp website is accurate or not though, AHXP10WMD is rated 710W vs AHX9VED2 at 890W.

Sharp max BTU is 10000 btu/hr; nominal 9000 btu/hr for 1hp

More likely the cause is a dead lizard or cockroach trapped inside.

It is normally stucked in or around the blower area. When you switch on the ac, you will have a strong smell initially.

Use a torch light to check the blower area. If you can find something, use a sate stick to remove it.

If your house have many of those, that is the likely cause.
Anyhow, you still need to service / take down the ac to check if lizard is not the cause but that my main suspect as I have experienced that b4.

Btw, is it moldy or 'corpse' smell ?
