Hi guys,

Now it seems Panasonic models sold out. And seems all new aircons now all using R32. Can I check why I see most halls and master bedroom using cassette type aircon. I don't know why as the build in pipes all conventional type ones. Any special benefits to cassette type?

Also anyone selling Mitsubishi Inverter GR and LN series in this thread. Can PM me price for 1 and 1.5 HP, please tell me installation how much too. Thanks.

Well, pricewise if you have a small delta then I will reco going for the CSPU inverter.
Between FOC vs 200
And the shopee diff maybe 800 vs 1300
Coz non inverter energy saving at best is 3 star ST.

Inverter only start saving once it reach target temp ya. So the question is what is ur usual AC temp setting.
If u run target temp 25 to 27C yes can see good saving
If u run AC as freezer 16C no need inverter. It take forever to reach 16C target.

Inverter less stuffy when running in slow mode, than non inverter stopped.

Deluxe inverter more to additional nanoe nanoex which to me is nice to haves. Not must have.

Hi, can I check with you if price diff only RM280 for 1HP and 1.5HP for this model Panasonic Inverter R32 X-Deluxe Air Conditioner CS-XPU13WKH-1, makes sense to go for 1.5HP even for small room? I plan to have my master bedroom and my TV room installed with this 1.5hp. According to my installer, higher hp actually saves power. Not sure not true this is as he argued will reach my desired temp faster.

Hi, I would like to ask if it is possible to install 1HP aircon using 2HP piping. The piping in my room is designed for 2HP, but as it is a small room, it only needs 1HP AC. Thanks.
*
Yes can. I plan to do the same for my house. The reverse cannot though.

Not sure if this is the right thread to ask.

Do you guys tint your windows? Personally I will be using those blind that prevents light from coming in, but not sure if still need to tint? Effect really good?

Current house has tint but I bet it loses effectiveness already since over 20 years. Not sure if aircon good enough.

Appreciate if you guys can intro too the tint you use if indeed tint is very much a necessity. Thanks.

For aircon, yes indeed a lot of inverter aircons running out, so they say. In fact a lot of electronic stores always say this run out that run out. But when you really put money to where your mouth is, they will say get stock from their competitor etc and even give you a competitive price... lol.

For my hall (don't really know size, double storey terrace), I plan to use 2 1.5HP aircons because the in-build pipes already there and we will also install Fan. One inverter and one normal. The idea is once somewhat cool enough I will switch off the 1.5 normal one and leave only the inverter one on. Or is it I must use 2HP?

Good tint has high IRR and TSER. 3M stuff should be good, I use 3M for front windscreen only and it already cut alot of heat for the car. Rest untinted.

Darkness (visible light) transmission is not a good criteria to compare tints. Most of the heat still come in on IR which is invisible wavelength.

For your hall, best to measure the width x length in feet with measuring tape and draw out the shape in ms paint for more accurate sizing.
Because house layouts can vary, and so does the living hall..some more bedroom and small living..some no GF bedroom and long living hall.. or living room is big and have small offset for dining area.. too many possibilities. But if developer already built in the 1.3hp pipes then it may not be excessively big room.
*
Do you think a blind that blocks out light good enough to replace tint effect?

Actually the hall (need to verify) I believe they have the bigger pipes meant for 2hp. But I really don't stay in hall that long and just for dinner only. Maybe occasional guests. So I guess 2 1.5Hp should do the job. I will get the aircon guy to go see and give me recommendation.

As for the half past 6 dealer, actually it is very reputable one. But I am lazy to write again the full details, let it be. I will be buying several Panasonic 1.5hp inverter first, the rest most likely Mitsubishi non-inverter 1.5hp and 1hp. Still thinking if buy now to lock in the price or risks further price increase after 3 months (renovation period).

If not excessively hot ie facing west then generally blinds or blackout curtains will work.

Mitsu u need to see whether it is MHI or ME. Some MHI is only 2 star ST and 1/5 yrs warranty.
Hitachi non inverter can be slightly cheaper, 3 star ST and 2/7 yrs warranty.
*
Ya it is ME one, 3 stars and 2/7 years warranty made in Thailand. I am from JB area, it seems very few people carry Hitachi. Maybe I go ask around.

I would still prefer to have the same brand of aircond in my house. When it comes to maintenance it will be easier.
*
Actually why it would be easier when it comes to maintenance? Actually a real example, a friend of mine bought the daikin inverter series at the same time when she moved house. Not the cheap ones btw. Then a couple of years later all the inverter aircons breakdown one by one within few months, board issue. Out of warranty and the fix is very expensive. Maybe that batch got the problem. So sometimes better to mix and match.

Two different technician serviced before. They did not take down the aircon. They just use some gas to push out the water trapped (airlock) . The second technician say it could the inner piping "gradient" by developer.

Are you suggesting to take down completely the aircon for full chemical washing?
Thanks

Obviously something is leaking in your case, happened to me before. Best is to re-install with new pipes back to back.

Hi folks,

I am thinking of buying 4 Inverter AC to take advantage of the Save 2.0 program.

Seems now only left Daikin and Panasonic (always out of stock).

Got some friends say Daikin most likely will spoil after the 3rd year (PCB issue). But it seems Daikin advertised they improve their PCB to handle higher voltage etc.

Can I check your opinion on Daikin 1HP and 2HP? Should I insist to hunt for Panasonic?

Also from the website it seems the Deluxe version vs standard difference is only the 3D airflow and one additional year warranty. Makes sense to pay RM100 more for the 3D airflow?

Daikin seems to have both good and bad opinions in this thread. So appreciate if any Daikin users here who used Daikin over the years to give some feedback. Thanks.

Non inverter daikin

1hp FTV28P/RV28F 1nos RM1080
1.5hp FTV35P/RV35F 1nos RM1380

DAIKIN R32 inverter wall type smart controls
1hp FTKF25A/RKF25A RM1280
1.5hp FTKF35A/RKF35A RM1580
2hp FTKF50A/RKF50A RM2650
2.5hp FTKF71A/RKF71A RM2900

This the cheapeat i get at my places for daikin. Can monitor usage and estimation of RM uses for each aircond.

Wow your Daikin is really cheap. May I know your Deluxe Daikin price is after the RM200 rebate or still can go RM200 lesser?

What's a recommended brand for aircon? Panasonic? Looking for 1.0 non inverter for master bedroom, 1.0 inverter for home office and 2.5 non inverter for living room.
*
Lately I have been shopping for aircon for my new house. Both inverter and non-inverter. In the end I went for all inverter Midea and Daikin Deluxe (only Deluxe and above is 5 star energy saving). Non inverter wanted to go Mitsubishi because of longer warranty for compressor and Thai made. But all these Jap brand aircon prices lately really gone ridiculous. This year up price 3 times latest being Oct up almost 10%. So in the end I went for Daikin (before the 10% increment) and Midea because really cheap.
