Hi. Wanna ask Panasonic A/C owners.
I just purchased a CU-S13RKH-1 (1.5HP?) inverter aircond.
So i'm using cool+econavi+nanoe-x (which I think is the most optimal setting to save?) at 28c.
So here's the issue.
I can hear the engine unit (the outdoor unit) from roaring, then it slows down, but as it slows down, there's this 'belting like' sound. It goes something like a screech and bzzt, is that normal? Its like those cars when you misclutch (where the clutch can't grip properly, it goes 'eeeeeeek eeeeeeeek'), something like that.
Because I don't really feel like dismantling the unit just to grab a warranty.

QUOTE(weng-aircon @ Mar 16 2016, 03:31 AM) It's normal when you hear the revving sound from the compressor because the loud noise means it runs at high speed. Both fan and compressor. When cool down the area it will switch to medium speed and the sound goes a little lower. The sound is just like uhmm when aeroplane take off the jet sound getting louder and then when up sky the sound goes lower. Haha.. shouldn't have any sound besides the compressor and fan. Do check with your installer. Yeah, i know the "uhmm" sound is supposed to go loud and slow down (which is fast speed and med speed and low speed). What i don't understand is that when it slows down, there seems to be a 'kreeek kreeek' sound, which sounds like a belting issue (which normally a healthy dose of WD40 would solve it). I'm gonna talk to my installer (because i bought it at another place, its rural where I stay, so installer doesn't sell airconds, just installs them), but I thought of asking here to see if anyone know what's exactly the issue. Many thanks though.

QUOTE(cucubud @ Mar 16 2016, 08:50 AM) I have the same air-cond in my bedroom. The outdoor unit is placed back to back with the indoor unit (above a window). I don't hear the noise from the outdoor unit. Very quiet. You better get the air-cond man to check. Finally got the installer to check, turns out probably my unit is a melon. It works great, except when it slows down, there's this eeeek eeek sound which turns out to the the outdoor unit's internal components rumbling. Oddly, when the installer pressed on the outdoor unit cover, the squeeking noise went away. When he released his hand, the squeeking noise came back. LOL. So can't do anything about it :/

QUOTE(cucubud @ Mar 21 2016, 07:22 AM) Why don't you make a report on that noise to Panasonic Service Center? They will send their technician to rectify the problem for you. Hmm. I'm not sure if they'll come, but I'll try. This is one bloody ulu area (semporna, sabah) LOL QUOTE(ozak @ Mar 21 2016, 10:28 AM) Place your outdoor unit further away. It is freaking noisy. too bad, i should have done it, but didn't. Didn't realize that, but since at the moment everything is okay, so i don't want to fix what isn't exactly broken.

QUOTE(ozak @ Mar 21 2016, 11:51 AM) Always learn from the net. There is no too late if you want to fix it. It just need to extend the pipe. its just the vibration sound, so i'm not too bothered. QUOTE(goohtj @ Mar 21 2016, 12:02 PM) why didn't he place a flower pot on it? he lazy to rectify it. last time, my york humming , the installer tightened the fan screws. oh... he found out that the fan had 2 screws at bottom instead of 4 [2 x top + 2 x bottom ]. cuz its not on top? or is it? QUOTE(vandechrome @ Mar 22 2016, 11:04 AM) is the sound similar to the video? https://youtu.be/qHfmP8OV1DQHEY! its the same! any way to 'fix' it? or memang lemon unit?

QUOTE(goohtj @ Mar 26 2016, 03:13 PM) insert some sponge in between the vibrating panel loh. I'm not sure if i get you, but the vibration is caused by panel rattling?
