QUOTE(halcyon27 @ Oct 27 2017, 06:05 AM) 9ft ceiling too low for cassette unless it's net height? 10 ft minimum so that when plaster 1ft there's 9ft of net ceiling height. For 9ft after plaster net 8ft left. Ideal is 11ft ceiling height. Thanks for replied. thumbs up. Ya net living 9' 10", dining net 9ft. dining and living combine no wall no door. Is dining and kitchen combined also or separated by a wall and door? Is this landed or condo? Use this post as a guideline. You may need two wall mounted split units. At least 2.5hp in living and at least 1.5hp in dining assuming living room is about 60% of the space. More if factors suggest higher cooling load required. Kitchen and dining is separated by wall/door. Ya correct around 67% is for living. so 2.5hp in living and dining 1.5hp ya? If alternative i plan to put fan only in dining. and one air con in living need use how many HP aircon? coz dining only eating twice a day only. Thank you sifu |

QUOTE(halcyon27 @ Nov 15 2017, 10:11 AM) Ceiling needs to be minimum 11ft otherwise after installation, it would be too low. If that is not an issue, if the space for placement such that it's strategically cool all sides without looking ugly fugly should be ok as long as you feel that you can do without ceiling fans. For a price of a 3HP ceiling, 2x2HP single split can be bought also. sorry i mean 3.0Hp one unit cassette or1.5hp x2 unit cassette. tq for ur fast responsed. currently plaster ceiling height is 10ft 10” |

QUOTE(halcyon27 @ Nov 16 2017, 11:04 AM) You know your layout better so if it's two separate zones, this will be better else a single 3.0HP can do also. attached layout living. Dining area i will just put fan no need aircon when eating. Btw, unless your place is corner unit, a single 2.5HP should be adequate. Go through the heat load calculation. Usually ground floor uses lower heat load factor unless certain conditions are met e.g. facing these direction:W,SW,S; corner unit; no deep porch or verendah; no garden...ie fully paved driveway. Then the heat will be conducted inwards from the ground and reradiated from the floor. Similarly no porch means the heat absorbed by the wall will also reradiate inwards. So is either 1unit 3Hp or 2units of 1.5Hp cassette in living area. Tq please assist. This post has been edited by arju: Nov 21 2017, 09:19 PM Attached thumbnail(s) |

QUOTE(halcyon27 @ Nov 22 2017, 08:40 AM) Unless an openable partition dividing dining and living area is installed you need to add the dining (13' 7" x 14' 2.25") to the living (21'x22.625'). This space is actually one large room divided into two areas/spaces: living and dining. The stairwell 21'x4.625' needs to be included as they are adjoining spaces also. Thus sizing is predicate upon a closer approximation of the whole space. If there is something like a W or accordion top hung track partition that can be closed, yes you can just take into account of 21x22.625' (minus the lopped off corner outside the entrance). Let's take approximately 660sqft. thank you for your detail info. there is no partition between dining and living area. dining no intention to put aircon.Taking an optimistic to conservative calculation 660 sqft x 60 = 39,600BTU/hr = 4HP 660 sqft x 65 = 42,900BTU/hr = 4.5HP Also, this does not take into account of the heat from the downlight's ballast or driver. If we tweak the heat load higher: 660 sqft x 70 = 46,200BTU/hr = 4.5-5.0HP If budget is a constraint, a 2.5 to 3HP will render the room barely cool enough (27°C to 25°C) if not cold (25°C and below). Any colder is beyond the power of the AC to cool on hot afternoons except on cloudy days after rain. so suggest to put 2units of 2.0 cassette in living area? to at least cool 20°C in afternoon? QUOTE(aeiou228 @ Nov 23 2017, 09:13 AM) Mine is slightly bigger than your house with one Mitsubishi 2.5hp. Ac installed. Cold enough for the entire ground floor i.e. living, dining and kitchen. Temp setting 26c-27c. bigger layout than my living and dining layout but you only use 2.5HP how come, i puzzle. so i need buy 3.0 1unit or 3.0hp+ 1.5hp combo. Please take note that the outdoor unit is pretty big and heavy. Around 60kg. i plan to use daikin cassette. mitsubishi cooler than daikin? thanks for sharing |

QUOTE(halcyon27 @ Dec 13 2017, 06:10 AM) Mitsubishi Heavy Industries FDT71CR-S is spec is rated at 24,225BTU/hr (7.1kW). i mean if both same spec recommend daikin or mitsubishi? The Daikin FCN30F spec mated with RN30C is 30,000BTU/hr (8.79kW) If greater cooling capacity is your priority, the choice is clear. Check the price at Lazada, could be cheaper. which one more reliable n lifespan. TQ bro. you aircon sifu here. This post has been edited by arju: Dec 13 2017, 11:52 AM |
